you should be required to have a lisence and have extensive psychological tests to aqquire a firearm and carry it around like that. there are so many fucken wacko's out there seriously, u could do a lot of damage to a crowd of people, demonstrators, etc. with a ak47, think of all the negatives to carrying and using a gun in public; another CCW carrier could think you are another bad guy involded in the very threat you both sought to defeat if he didnt know you were carrying too.

Hello Sir, A friend's grandfather died a few weeks ago, and he has a vast collections of guns and ammo. Were talking about probably 50-80 assorted guns and rifles and maybe a few thousand rounds He also lives in California and would like to know how to get rid of them and probably get some cash in return. He hates guns and would not keep any. 2 local dealers does not want them since according to them the guns are in horrible conditions. Local P.D does not want them either. Any suggestions?
@MrPoosa1 I suppose if you were in any other state than shitty CA, I'd try a pawn shop, to see what you could get for them.. but the registration and bullshit that CA does would probably make it not worth their effort.

I open carry every day in Arizona. Phoenix PD, Tempe PD, Mesa PD, Chandler PD, have never even looked at me twice when they see me. Customers, passers-by, everyone else, barely ever even says a word, or looks twice. The ones that do.. just ask me what kind it is, etc, or are interested in knowing more about the law, what they need to do to legally carry, etc. California, you really need to grow the hell up. The right to keep and bear arms is not going away.

@bricetheman2006 well it might be to get other people used to seeing the rifle, Could also be that he is more comfortable with an ar-15 as opposed to a handgun, Ive had issues with handgun safeties being really weak and have discharged when an impact jars it. never had that issue with rifles though. more substantial safeties i guess
the only thing that's keeping you from getting robbed at gunpoint is the police. so be thankful they are "harassing" you. there's no easier target than a moron with a camera and an unloaded gun.
Hangun open carry is still legal in california but it cannot have a round chambered or have a loaded clip. And I believe in certain californian cities like the bay area it is iilegal to have ar's. Im so glad i live in reno nevada!!! I open carry with my AK47 and it is legal to have one chambered but i never do. As soon as i turn 21 im buying a handgun and open carrying!!!
@MrHellested - it is now illegal in cali to open carry unloaded handguns. Dem-reprasentative Portantino in the cali legislature is now targeting long guns.
You are a dipshit!! Thank God the laws have changed.. Not enough but enough for now.. Maybe a car load of gang bangers will take your shit from you...
Its great that you exercise your right as I do, HOWEVER, try not to be so nervous, it makes them nervous, dont tell them not to follow you, that makes them suspicious, dont act SNOODY like its your right and not theirs to take. Cooperate with the officers in blue, most of them are good, and would be happy to see you on your way. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with them approaching you to see if your chamber is clear, and your weapon safe. I like them to do the same to me. It keeps us safe.
@floopydudeProduction I live here and have all my life (50 years) I am moving to AZ when my wife retires in about 5 years. The only good thing is the weather. I watched this place go to the dogs.
lmfao, you totally freaked out in that situation... try practicing what you will say to a police officer nexttime try saying good morning/afternoon officer. they they return the greeting then try something like it is unloaded feel free to check, (place your hands in a SAFE area, and allow the OFFICER to check your weapon) then when he is satisfied it is unloaded, say have a nice day officer (insert name) and walk off... instead of freaking out...
@1775novtewell yes the officer did draw his weapon, but i feel only because when he was asked about what he was carrying he freaked out. possible mental instability plus firearm... in that situation i would have drew my weapon too.
@1775novten It was a echeck...the video wouldn't be posted if it was loaded as him and his gun would have been confiscated by the police....Lighten up a bit...
@sambass951 I'm not sure what you're referring to. You think I'm being a bit stiff? Regarding what? I get that it was an echeck, but other posters were saying that he was too nervous and acted a bit freaked out. And I said that it's a normal reaction to get nervous around cops, especially when one draws his sidearm on you. Wouldn't you be a bit tweaky at that point? I would.
@jjiggydoc you can have loaded magazines but they have to be separate from the firearm. So once in danger you could load up lmao i know so crazy glad i live in WA
So according to california law, I can carry a rifle on me as long as its not concealed and it's unloaded? Can I also carry my bullets in another pocket?
When they take one right, they'll start taking them all. Once that happens, the America that was, will be gone. We'll just be another cheap, crappy third world country and we're not to far from it right now.
Everyone better start opening their eyes and think a little. Ron Paul 2012. We really are living in the Matrix.
Why does carrying a gun cause such and uproar and why do people start acting weird. We all have our rights and I too would carry mine on my back. If anything, this guy should be praised for having the balls to validate his rights on the street. It's his life and not yours.
It's a documented fact that where there is open carry, crime goes down. WHY? Come on knuckleheads, it neutralizes the threat. Thugs think twice before they go for the gusto. Is he going to shoot, or not. infowars com
Note: I'm generalizing: The point I'm making is that we as law abiding citizens excising our rights have a responsibility. Is it reasonable for LEO's to check and assure the scenario is safe and law abiding and that compliance is in order. Until people in general are exposed and educated to our life style and RIGHT, we ourselves as law abiding citizens legally carrying our firearms must be reasonable and understand that LEO's are there for us. In time hopefully soon attitudes will change.
Imagine this scenario; a Law enforcement officer on routine patrol receives a 911 call about a man with a gun running from a 711, lets say your jogging past that 711, someone assumes you just robbed it and called 911 when in reality your just exercising & legally open carrying. The LEO's demeanor now switches to a tactical, survival mode, he has no idea your totally legal, he makes initial contact and you start off with "I don't consent to search & your 2nd Amendment Rights.
It is your right to open carry/unloaded: One must understand that it's also appropriate for law enforcement to assure that all scenarios observed where there may be a possibility of questionable activity is what it is..safe and compliant or otherwise; you don't put LEO's to the test while in the performance of their duties, your not the one waking up in the morning whose duties is to assure public safety and law and order...Yes! please! by all means you have a right. There's no reason to push.
@mpr61274 that's your opinion and as the law state the right to bear arms doesn't tell you just to the shooting range and back. This new world we live in might be scared of guns but that's not our problem that's theirs luge people should learn the law and understand that!
Please remember that any action that a legal gun owner takes that sparks fear and or concern of others will directly bite us in the butt. if you are not heading to a location to legally fire your long arm and there is no actual purpose of having it on your persons, such as aimlessly walking around town for the purpose of sneering at leo because we have the legal right causes issue and or concern enough to rewrite the laws where we no longer have legal right to posses a firearm in a public area
@714dilema Shut the hell up you stupid little kid. Talking about shoot outs with Police Officers like it makes you cool. You're just another internet tough guy with a big mouth.
@or2169 yes but dont do it..i belive it makes it worse..i mean common this guys is walking in a neighborhood with a fucking rifle..he is gonna scare the shit out of people..why do u think the cops came..
@nerblebun You can carry ammunition with you. Those are the rules the Communist regime in CA has put in place. Unfortunately, patriots are stuck obeying the laws, while criminals don't care.
@isaias1776 Ok,that makes a little more sense. At least you have a bit of a chance with the bad guys. After 54 years I moved out of Calif. 6 years ago.Best thing I ever did.I moved to a small town in the South. The Chief of Police here encourages all honest citizens to get a concealed carry permitt (and actually helps them get one) as do most of the cops I've met. Says it makes his job easier. Isn't that something ? A government official that actually believes in the second ammendment.
@isaias1776 No because protesting like this is why it's now illegal to open carry handguns. I understand the reason to do this, but it's only working against us in the long run.
Yes we all get it we have a right to bear arms.. Stock being dumb f***s about it and stop trying to show off like a little b**ch hiding behind the law. Use it for its intended use not to start controversy.
lol I guess this is what my state had in mind huh? If I was a cop I would be more freaked out by an AR15 on someones back than a pistol in a holster. I'm going to take my M1A out someday and see what happens.
@thehotshirtguy2008 You're right of course. I cant argue that fact. But personal protection does not usually happen 800 meters away...Usually within 2 feet. by the time he can get ammo in that thing, it's too late. I have seen him in action, and he is more concerned about making himself seen by the cops more than personal safety, but then he and some of his group spout off about protecting themselves.
wow they are pricks. I guess we were treated good in Wa state Compaired to other states. Even though i still think people are clueless on whats really going on with the media circus show people think is real.
that one cop look really piss....it looks like he was just thinking.. Fuck.. this guy is walking the street with a military like type weapon and i cant do shit.....he feels powerless now and dont want to be a cop no more... u know they join for the power.
Not necessarily. I can call out the #s right there in front of you. Not saying we will but there are lots that we can do, and you can cooperate and we'll be on our way, or act the fool and watch the legislature take away uoc of long guns next year. There are better ways than what this guy is doing.
I have no problems with people exercising their rights. That's what America is all about. But please stop with the same mantra... "am I being detained, I don't consent to search, blah, blah, blah"
Just let us do our (e) check and we're gone. I don't like it anymore than you do, but we have a job to do.
@Notoriousdsb I understand that theres a line of respect. But if he doesnt say that, the officer might run the serial or request his ID unlawfully and in other videos, they were arrested for refusing. Also if this was not "called in" and a cop just saw the gun, "am i being detained" basically is saying, are you charging me with a crime? If not, ill be on my way. We dont need a cop babying us every time they see a weapon. If civilians call it in.. an E-check will do just fine.
@daimyo21 - If the serial # is in plain view during the e-check, guess what? We can do whatever we want with something in plain view, including running the serial #. We can also request ID, he doesn't have to give it. How's that unlawful? It's a request, not an order to produce ID. We are allowed to detain to do the e-check. There is no need to charge a crime at that point, but we get to detain to investigate. Once we determine it's in compliance, the detention is over. No need for theatrics.
@Notoriousdsb I was simply saying, if u look, there is videos of Open carriers getting arrested for not presenting ID or allowing serial checks. Of course all charges get dropped and 3 hours+ is wasted but its because of unlawfulness and not knowing the law. Of course not all cops are this way and some are super nice but its the ignorant egotistical ones that make all the rest look bad. Also if its in plain view, youd have to run the serial while I walk away right?
@Notoriousdsb Very true on the plain view thing, but you don't have the right to run the serial # unless there is a crime involving the gun. Be careful with the plain view thing or it could be limited more than what it already is. Again very true on asking questions. There is nothing wrong with asking questions. It's the refusal to answer that has to be determined to be a crime or not. That is where the PC for a crime is required.
@daimyo21 Telling someone they are "detained" does not mean they are arrested, hence not charging anyone with a crime. If you are gonna throw terms around make sure you understand what they mean. A person can be detained and not charged with a crime. Happens every time you get pulled over and not issued a citation.
@icatchum530 I never said that being detained = arrested. In order for an officer to detain you, he has to be investigating a crime or call. You dont have to present your ID and YES cops can legally lie to you and threaten you with being arrested if you refuse. And they will literally arrest you and charge you with a phony crime to flex their power. Of course its your word against theirs so you must record it.
@Notoriousdsb thats the legal way of saying it. anything else can cause a shaddow of a doubt that cops use as loopholes to break the law. "I do not concent to searches" cannot be missinterpreted. "am i being detianed" allows the person to know how to act. if they are being detained they need to follow a different set of rules... if they arent... then theirs no reason to stay there and possibly incriminate yourself involuntarily.
I'm not a big fan of open carry, especially with an AR, kind of inviting trouble with the law. Conceal carry would be better although CA conceal carry laws are a joke. Arizona's current conceal carry law is spot on and should be legal in all 50 states.
If there's trouble you ram a magazine into the rifle and your good to go. Have the working part to the rear so all you have to do is magazine-insert, working parts-forward and your good to go! :)
:P i like thoes officers they are very very respectfull but carefull at the same time i love open carry there is no reason any law abiding citizen has to fear another law abiding citizen who is carrying a firearm of anytype but then again the citizens who carry firearms illegally dont really care or follow the law now do they?
You don't think that harrassment is part of hacopian's complaint? It is alleged in Hac's complaint that Duran and Belt illegally detained and battered the plaintiff. There was no suspicion of a crime. Hac was arrested and cuffed for engaging in law abiding behavior. Yes, Hacopien was harrassed by government actors.
You sounded like you were about to shit yourself.

Im so glad i live in reno nevada!!! I open carry with my AK47 and it is legal to have one chambered but i never do. As soon as i turn 21 im buying a handgun and open carrying!!!
MrHellested 3 weeks ago
@MrHellested - it is now illegal in cali to open carry unloaded handguns. Dem-reprasentative Portantino in the cali legislature is now targeting long guns.

It keeps us safe.

lmfao, you totally freaked out in that situation... try practicing what you will say to a police officer nexttime try saying good morning/afternoon officer. they they return the greeting then try something like it is unloaded feel free to check, (place your hands in a SAFE area, and allow the OFFICER to check your weapon) then when he is satisfied it is unloaded, say have a nice day officer (insert name) and walk off... instead of freaking out...

@sambass951 I'm not sure what you're referring to. You think I'm being a bit stiff? Regarding what? And I said that it's a normal reaction to get nervous around cops, especially when one draws his sidearm on you. Wouldn't you be a bit tweaky at that point? I would.

RemVinny 1 month ago
Note: I'm generalizing: The point I'm making is that we as law abiding citizens excising our rights have a responsibility. Is it reasonable for LEO's to check and assure the scenario is safe and law abiding and that compliance is in order. Until people in general are exposed and educated to our life style and RIGHT, we ourselves as law abiding citizens legally carrying our firearms must be reasonable and understand that LEO's are there for us. In time hopefully soon attitudes will change.
Hawaiian80882 1 month ago
Imagine this scenario; a Law enforcement officer on routine patrol receives a 911 call about a man with a gun running from a 711, lets say your jogging past that 711, someone assumes you just robbed it and called 911 when in reality your just exercising & legally open carrying. The LEO's demeanor now switches to a tactical, survival mode, he has no idea your totally legal, he makes initial contact and you start off with "I don't consent to search & your 2nd Amendment Rights.
Who's right?
Hawaiian80882 1 month ago
It is your right to open carry/unloaded: One must understand that it's also appropriate for law enforcement to assure that all scenarios observed where there may be a possibility of questionable activity is what it is..safe and compliant or otherwise; you don't put LEO's to the test while in the performance of their duties, your not the one waking up in the morning whose duties is to assure public safety and law and order...Yes! please! by all means you have a right. There's no reason to push.

This has been flagged as spam show
Please remember that any action that a legal gun owner takes that sparks fear and or concern of others will directly bite us in the butt. if you are not heading to a location to legally fire your long arm and there is no actual purpose of having it on your persons, such as aimlessly walking around town for the purpose of sneering at leo because we have the legal right causes issue and or concern enough to rewrite the laws where we no longer have legal right to posses a firearm in a public area

thehotshirtguy2008 2 months ago
@thehotshirtguy2008 Guns are guns. It doesnt matter if its a rifle or a pistol. If the operator knows how to use it, it is still deadly.
icatchum530 2 months ago
@icatchum530 But an M1A is deadly beyond 800 meters... a 1911 is not.
thehotshirtguy2008 2 months ago
@thehotshirtguy2008 You're right of course. I cant argue that fact. But personal protection does not usually happen 800 meters away...Usually within 2 feet. by the time he can get ammo in that thing, it's too late. I have seen him in action, and he is more concerned about making himself seen by the cops more than personal safety, but then he and some of his group spout off about protecting themselves.

Notoriousdsb 2 months ago
I have no problems with people exercising their rights. That's what America is all about. But please stop with the same mantra... "am I being detained, I don't consent to search, blah, blah, blah"
Just let us do our (e) check and we're gone. I don't like it anymore than you do, but we have a job to do.
Notoriousdsb 2 months ago
@Notoriousdsb I understand that theres a line of respect. But if he doesnt say that, the officer might run the serial or request his ID unlawfully and in other videos, they were arrested for refusing. Also if this was not "called in" and a cop just saw the gun, "am i being detained" basically is saying, are you charging me with a crime? If not, ill be on my way. We dont need a cop babying us every time they see a weapon. If civilians call it in.. an E-check will do just fine.
daimyo21 2 months ago
@daimyo21 - If the serial # is in plain view during the e-check, guess what? We can do whatever we want with something in plain view, including running the serial #. We can also request ID, he doesn't have to give it. How's that unlawful? It's a request, not an order to produce ID. We are allowed to detain to do the e-check. There is no need to charge a crime at that point, but we get to detain to investigate. Once we determine it's in compliance, the detention is over. No need for theatrics.
Notoriousdsb 2 months ago
@Notoriousdsb I was simply saying, if u look, there is videos of Open carriers getting arrested for not presenting ID or allowing serial checks. Of course all charges get dropped and 3 hours+ is wasted but its because of unlawfulness and not knowing the law. Of course not all cops are this way and some are super nice but its the ignorant egotistical ones that make all the rest look bad. Also if its in plain view, youd have to run the serial while I walk away right?
daimyo21 2 months ago
@Notoriousdsb Very true on the plain view thing, but you don't have the right to run the serial # unless there is a crime involving the gun. Be careful with the plain view thing or it could be limited more than what it already is. Again very true on asking questions. There is nothing wrong with asking questions. It's the refusal to answer that has to be determined to be a crime or not. That is where the PC for a crime is required.
icatchum530 2 months ago
@daimyo21 Telling someone they are "detained" does not mean they are arrested, hence not charging anyone with a crime. If you are gonna throw terms around make sure you understand what they mean. A person can be detained and not charged with a crime. Happens every time you get pulled over and not issued a citation.
icatchum530 2 months ago
@icatchum530 I never said that being detained = arrested. In order for an officer to detain you, he has to be investigating a crime or call. You dont have to present your ID and YES cops can legally lie to you and threaten you with being arrested if you refuse. And they will literally arrest you and charge you with a phony crime to flex their power. Of course its your word against theirs so you must record it.
daimyo21 2 months ago
@daimyo21 I guess it will depends on the cop that stops you. Maybe they wont make up crimes, but I guess you never know.
icatchum530 2 months ago
@Notoriousdsb thats the legal way of saying it. anything else can cause a shaddow of a doubt that cops use as loopholes to break the law. "I do not concent to searches" cannot be missinterpreted. "am i being detianed" allows the person to know how to act. if they are being detained they need to follow a different set of rules... if they arent... then theirs no reason to stay there and possibly incriminate yourself involuntarily.
