Scheff sings this song very well. However, he's no Peter Cetera. He even stresses his voice (fail) like Cetera does. He needs to make this song his OWN and not try to be Peter Cetera; which is impossible.

Cetera WAS Chicago in people's minds for so many years that it's hard for them accept anything else.
Peter is great but Jeff is an awesome vocalist too. He can't duplicate Peter's voice but he gets the essence of Cetera's work. Frankly, he does some things better than Cetera did. He has an energy that really speaks through the music.
As was noted, Jeff has been Chicago's lead vocalist now longer than Cetera was in the band! He's earned the right to be recognized as the voice of Chicago.

Thank goodness Communist dictatorship in Bulgaria was more careless and "southern-minded" than it was in Russia. In 1982 we had a FM station in our capital Sofia (the only one in the area , Horizont FM 103.0) which played Chicago and other famous pop and rock bands from the West with far less censorship than say in East Germany or USSR. Then I really fell in love with Chicago and this love lasts until present!
To my friends it's strange, that all my favorite music is from the 60's to early 90's. (I'm 16) But my dad loves this music and I've listened to it since i was an infant.

When I was a kid, I was in the car with my mom and sister and this song was on the radio. I turned to look out the window and this really big guy in the car next to us was singing along to the chorus really passionately. To this day we still laugh about it!

@psychodelicrock12 I can think of lot of other rock bands that need to be put out to pasture, but not this one. Robert Plant, Huey Lewis, Ozzy, to name a few from different genres. Maybe you don't like Chicago with this line up at this point, but they sound a helluva lot better than the ones I just mentioned and others too many to mention.
Yeah, too bad Peter continues to have such a swelled head after all these years. When the band lost Terry Kath, I was a Junior in H.S. and thought: "That's it, they're done, no one has as a distinctive voice as him. But they shifted their sound nearly exclusively to Peter's equally-distinctive voice and voala! they were back in spades! Then as you stated, Peter left in the mid-80s, never to return. As much as I would love to see him back with the band, Jason does a great job.
I am getting married in October of this year and this song is the first dance song for me and my husband to be that day. I am so exited this song represents our love and the way we cherish each other.

Musically he cant sing to well the best i ever heard him sing is the song Bigger Than Elvis from the SOS album the song was about his dad so there was no fake emotion on that one. I laugh about everyone whining to bring Peter Cetera back he isnt coming back and who really cares he thought he could do better on his own he didnt.

When I was a kid, I was in the car with my mom and sister and this song was on the radio. I turned to look out the window and this really big guy in the car next to us was singing along to the chorus really passionately. To this day we still laugh about it!

If you think Scheff or Chicago gives two shits what any of you naysayers think, you are dumber than I thought. Chicago still rocks and in fact.....Scheff has been in the band longer than Cetera ever was. They must like what he's doing and a hell of a lot of other fans do to . So you Cetera lovers can bitch all you want to no avail. Cetera made the decision to leave for greener pastures. @psychodelicrock12 I can think of lot of other rock bands that need to be put out to pasture, but not this one. Robert Plant, Huey Lewis, Ozzy, to name a few from different genres. Maybe you don't like Chicago with this line up at this point, but they sound a helluva lot better than the ones I just mentioned and others too many to mention.

Yeah, too bad Peter continues to have such a swelled head after all these years. When the band lost Terry Kath, I was a Junior in H.S. and thought: "That's it, they're done, no one has as a distinctive voice as him. But they shifted their sound nearly exclusively to Peter's equally-distinctive voice and voala! they were back in spades! Then as you stated, Peter left in the mid-80s, never to return. As much as I would love to see him back with the band, Jason does a great job.
