I believe the reasoning behind your friend saying that is because pixie hairstyles look too much like a guy's haircut. I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't find girls trying to look like metrosexual guys attractive. I like Michael Cera, but I don't wanna date him. Do whatever you want, but don't be surprised if you don't get a lot of attention from hetero guys if you wear guy clothes/hairstyles
