yes it have to have a flywheel to get over that "dead spot" and try adding a flyweel that is geared so it spins faster than the crank, then its just fine tuning the switch timing that matters.
Also very nice engine I made my own and then found my eBay ordered pneumatic cylinder was broken. (It only expands but when I go to contract it leaks from the top can anyone help me?(I think the seal is broken.))
yea got same problem with some of my engines. the lego isnt built for stuff like this so it breaks. if you try to build a inline 4 with an engine rock solid engine block it may not leak. but cuz this engine dont have an engine block the cylinder wobbles and creates leaks
Thnx for the help, but my one doesn't work even whilst mounted in the engine and it has gotten worse and worse. Also I only have one cylinder and I cannot find repairs on the net anywhere. (I think putting it in the engine made it break)
I think i read it on a site or somthing like it: that if you send in a broken piece of your lego set to your nearest lego company, then you'll get it fixed back for free. that's what i thought...
i dont think you need any instructions just take a look at the video. i uses a 40 tooth gear and 2x 1x1 liftarms as a crank and then you can figure the rest out youself i hope.
how?

jeg har laget en lignene motor men for ikke start på den, har gjort alt som deg untat at jeg har et 24 tannhjul istede for 50 tannhjul som du bruker
Håper du skjønner norsk.

@10paperplane som föregående skrivare säger.
Allting handlar om timing, jag håller på att bygga en ångmotor i metall och där handlar allting om att få de att öppna och stänga vid rätt tillfället

Keep the cylinders and switches lubricated with a silicone based lubricant, and they shall last longer.
vVeazel 2 years ago
But DON'T USE WD40 the oil base in lubricants like these will corode the plastic.

made one like that ^^ thanks for posting : D took a time before i understood the timing, but it works now just need an air compressor : D

Not very fast for already drilled inlet...
I've aslo seen the other one, faster but i've gotten my one cylinder (big cylinder) to run faster without boring the cylinder :P
pagani8 3 years ago
did u drill out the cylinder? how did u get it to go so fast
legostuffguy 3 years ago
yes the cylinder is drilled out and im using an air compressor
but i will soon upload my improved engine that is much faster. that cylinder there is leaking so i changed it with a new one
