The music sounds a lot like the MSX version which I used to play and love back when I was a child.
It indeed an awesome piece of music. I loved that game when I was a kid, finished it like a dozen of times, even though the game looked like shit for an MSX game
this is goin back 20 years or so and i can still remember the awful music lol , great game , back in the days when it took forever to load a cassette video game , superb
bought this in WHSmith's back in the day for mean £10... was boxed up nice.... loved the music :)
CPC464 colour was my first computer. Thanks to it breaking down once (ended up reading the book and all the programming stuff) I now write computer software :p
the way the bad guys fall out of window after getting killed, looks absolutely the same way like the guys falling down in "Batman" on CPC. It's also from Ocean.
Wonder, how many other games they made with the same routine.
I had a CPC6128 and loved this game although it was very easy. I also amazed my mates with my ability to complete Thundercats with more lives that I started with. Although that was a speccy port, it was incredibly challenging.
When I was 7 - my dad got me my first computer (amstrad cpc 464) green screen aswell! Never saw colour games until I had the megadrive some 5 years later.. But this game was rock-solid, music is fantastic. I never ever completed an amstrad game. But the long load-time is well worth the wait for the robocop title-screen alone! :D
But I remember that they were part of a wave of Ocean Games movie licences that were absolutely amazing - Robocop, Batman the Movie, Total Recall. I loved the music to Batman the Movie - thank god for emulators...!!! - outside of Ocean, Ghostbuster 2 was ace!
This was my first computer when I was 10 years old. Brings back a hell of alot of memories. Dont have it anymore but Im still rather nostalgic. I play these games on an Amstrad Emulator on my PC. Good times...
i don't know whether it's nostalgia or not, but THIS was the golden age of gaming...it was awesome! Games today, they're TOO good, and take ages to even learn how to play..these games were simple but awesome.
I wonder if the 9-14 year olds of today will look back in 10-15 years time at today's games and feel the same way we do!!
Reading these posts has got me seriously thinking about the effect these games have on people- i literally was overwhelmed just hearing this music!! Given that I dont normally get overwhelmed by anythin short of 4 models naked in a hot tub these days, i wud say its had a profound effect!! Did anyone play ninja remix???
I played this game a lot on my MSX (although being a ZX Spectrum conversion). It was a bit hit in the late eighties. Robocop and Batman The Movie are the best movie to video game adaptaions of the 8-bit era.
masterpiece, great soundtrack

I loved this game.
However, the only version I had was not only cracked, but also patched for infinite health, and this cheat could not be disabled...

Sure, both games were programmed by Dawn Drake & Jonathan Dunn...this is the way that makes those games use the same graphic style.

I maintain that the Amstrad had the potential to be the best home micro of the 80-90's if only more games were of robocop's quality.
