Lol, i just started playing poker and even i know about pot odds and making it disadvantageous for my opponent to bet. By checking on the flop he let his opponent get a free card, had he bet about 60-70% of the pot, in the long run he will make money off of people chasing flushes.
Unless he calls like a donk after the flush is completed and the opponent immediately starts betting.

@ghosted760 It's hard to "overplay" top pair or 2 pair in a heads up situation, as it will usually be the best hand. In other words, expecting to win a good majority of the time with top pair or 2 pair in heads up is a warranted expectation.

Phil's A-K off suit pre-flop is a 3-2 favorite vs 2 under cards, or about a 45% dog to a middle pair. @Shirazae uh no slow playing is usually used to disguise the strength of your hand... if you are good at reading the board you usually can tell if your slow play has fucked you or not and you can either cut your losses or get to showdown as cheap as possible or you can go for maximum value.. besides Hellmuth's check on the flop here is more likely for pot control than a slow play. Most people who post on here would have gone broke on this hand including you by the sounds of it

@donmajikjuan Pot Limit Omaha (PLO)... it's Omaha Hold Em 4 cards to each player, 5 community cards, you must use 2 of your hole cards and 3 from the board... i.e. you can't play the board or 3 or 4 or 1 of your cards. There is no such thing as No Limit Omaha, btw.

So yes there are inferior gamblers especially poker players otherwise I wouldnt make money doing it. Im by no means getting wealthy but its a source of income for me. I see your point but i've never played poker but i've learnt it by watching videos like this. why don't you test my capacity to understand odds and probabilities? To me gambling is pure luck. its about making the right decision at the right time regardless of what cards you have. for e.g. phill helmuth's odds of winning were higher but he didn't win did he? So the person with the best odd's doesn't always win; so its based on luck. and nobody can measure one's luck so nobody is inferior.

what's funny is he often sounds like one of the $5 sit and go opponents I often play against who just can't seem to understand why he gets beat so often after attempting to slow-play. but it's so obvious even to someone like me who's only been playing real-money games for a few months: slow-playing is for when you WANT your opponent's hand to improve

@Shirazae uh no slow playing is usually used to disguise the strength of your hand... if you are good at reading the board you usually can tell if your slow play has fucked you or not and you can either cut your losses or get to showdown as cheap as possible or you can go for maximum value.. besides Hellmuth's check on the flop here is more likely for pot control than a slow play. Most people who post on here would have gone broke on this hand including you by the sounds of it
