ok well its not thier fault that they took a wrong turn i mean you are seriously saying they are stupid and selfiish for accedently going the erong way mssed up dude
seriously I cant beleive some people are so stupid to keep driving for hours to stay in a stupid hotel when they got small children in the backseat and worst of all they kept driving for like an hour after they took the alternative road and never they once thought maybe they should just turn around? Hello!?!? you have children with you!! what happened is their own fault I do feel sorry but they were acting really stupid and selfish!!!!
i have less than 0 sympathy for these people. simple fucking concept: TURN AROUND! seriously how hard is it to simply put the car in reverse and go back to find your exit ? dumbasses, they got what they deserved .people should take a test before being allowed to breed, stupid bastards.
They were first spotted by John Rachor, a local helicopter pilot who was NOT hired by the Kim family. It's true that James Kim (and Kati, after all, was another adult in the vehicle) made poor decisions that lead to all of this. However, despite this, he obviously loves his family and did not intentionally put his family in harms way. RIP
A family's tragic journey. Or what happens to stupid people in bad weather? See how death can be just outside when you have become a being of modern conveinence.
I wonder why there are so few tragic stories out there about survivalists and their families. Hmm.. Well gotta get my kiddo to the scouts. Talk more later.
This wasn't a well planned trip..no extra winter coats, no spare tires, no extra car battery, and no spare gasoline. I mean the man wore tennis shoes going into several blizzard states. If that wasn't enough, he waited SEVEN DAYS in a blizzard before seeking help. I personally do not believe that "hero" is the appropriate term that applies here. This man and his wife made horrribly poor decisions, and they payed a severe price for it.
I knew exactly what road they were on the day the local news reported them missing, the authorities botched this whole thing. It's too bad this happened. I feel sorry for their loss.
I just watched the ABC 2hr special on this case earlier tonight, and have watched other videos of it on the internet. The mainstream media & the rescuers chose to blame the BLM, the road signage, the maps, etc, instead of facing the obvious--that the couple could have turned the vehicle around and drove back the way they came. The car was not stuck. Instead, they chose inertness, idling the engine for two days off and on, until they ran out of gas. A self-inflicted tragedy.
Fools Absolute fools. My opinion begins with "thier sabb station wagon", people who drive those cars will always perish in a survival situation. With a bit of common sense. He would still be alive...
You are out of your fuckin mind. First you say you are over 100 years old. Not very mature if you ask me. Then you say I am a disrace to humanity.
Well you can fuck yourself. I would never put my family in that position.
You on the other hand are still jerking off, and don't have a family. So you just don't know. When you come back to reality maybe we can have a talk. DS
did i say i was 100? gawd get your facts straight dumbass your a little 9 yearold prick who thinks hes smart jerking off? ya right i gotta gf to screw i dont need to do that like you and GAE PRONZ fucking moron

Umm your profile says you are 107 years old. And from Cuba. Big deal!!!!!! You can say what you want Kid, but you are speaking to a wall. Your stupidity and misspelled words. Mean little to nothing to me. So let it go and get a life.
Say hi to Castro for me you communist puke!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why did he had to go to the woods?! I live in Oregon the conditions were so bad it was frizzing! He should it stayed in the car. Now his kids don't have a father!
James Kim died as a hero trying to save his family. RIP.
For anyone else with a family who travels in winter, or in mountains, consider getting a PLB (Personal Locator Beacon). About the size of a deck of cards, it will sit in your glovebox for 11 years on a single battery, and when you activate it, will transmit your exact GPS coordinates to NOAA, and they will (24x7) notify the local authorities with your position. 600 bucks. Google PLB.

There's a website that looked at the whole thing and told what really happened: It was the Kims fault, and no one else's fault.

james kim was brilliant when it came to technology, but unfortunately lacked a lot of common sense.

What a sad story but can't help feeling they were irresponsible to undertake this journey in the first place esp with two such young children. So sad
