I'm an Engineer and have taught Math at the University level, until recently I believed in Einstein's theory of relativity, followed the math, accepted it as common knowledge, then 2 years ago it was proved to be inaccurate. At some level everyone is relying on what someone else has said.

Alot of kids grow up to be criminals, or insane maniacs by the curse words they hear and see around them. I can almost guarantee to you at least half of the criminals in prison grew up with bad childhoods being told or influenced by curse words, and the parents or people who told it to them, thought its okay, they're just words. It also has nothing to do with the banning of religious ideas. What is in the bill of rights however is freedom of religion which has been seriously violated in the US. @NewHopeist Science and Religion don't contradict each other, but in many cases they both involve believing in what someone else says (i.e. Faith). I'm an Engineer and have taught Math at the University level, until recently I believed in Einstein's theory of relativity, followed the math, accepted it as common knowledge, then 2 years ago it was proved to be inaccurate. At some level everyone is relying on what someone else has said.

However Their is no contradiction between science and religion (Gravity doesn't disprove god,, if anything it would prove god - physical system with rules implies intelligent design - like a computer program). I think the idea that Science contradicts religion is put forth by those who dont know anything about Science.

Well, in some respects they don't, but your point about science having faith is just false. You have to have faith to believe in fairly tales, but you do not need faith to believe in say, gravity. Why? Because it's testable. Religion is based around believing ancient texts that hold not water when put to scientific tests.
