that may rarely happen with crts, your supposed to tap it at the top of it jently and itll be back to normal9its eaven written in the manuals) , but with plasma hm, never heard of that
I have the same problem. But it is happening with a CRT TV. But for me, the entire picture disappears and I have to touch it. When I'm too lazy, I just hit it with a pillow. :)
But for some weird reason, it's not happening anymore. Although new problems showed up. :)
your problem is the connection to the LCD itself. it seems to be falling out of place and the connections to pretty much half of the screen fall out of place- so the screen goes half black. but tapping it pushes the glass up against the connections again and it comes back.
My 42 inch Hyundai plasma TV started getting up to 5 black lines down the screen after the warranty ran out, and it seems to be a similar problem to this. I ended up buying a 50 inch Samsung plasma HDTV, but I'm still stuck with the faulty TV that I put up with when I watch it in the bedroom. Banging the screen doesn't to help! Sometimes most of the lines go away, but not often. I know someone else who had the same problem. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

has a loose connector to the digital board, dismantle, and check all connectors, quite common and very simple to repair
