I need to have this done sometime... For all of you that say your toenail is infected and hurts like hell, mine was the same. Go to your local Physicians Immediate Care and have them take a look at it. The doctor will probably give you a subscription to remove the infection. After that, get some q-Tips, cleaning liquid(medical) and some band aids. Clean the wound every morning and night, and use the Q-Tip to push the skin back from the nail. It may hurt but it will do wonders. My toenail isn't

I had this done before in a emergency room. the only thing that hurt is when they injected the needle into my toe halfway and it touched the bone to numb it. after a while I couldnt feel nothing not even the scalpel cutting into my toe or the ingrown nail edge being removed. it isn't as horrible as some may put it.

Ok I am going to the Podiatrist for an ingrown toenail this week. It doesnt even look too bad but even just touching my toe the slightest puts tears in my eyes. Will they remove it right there and then? I don't think I can take the pain at all... do the shots prevent you from feeling everything???? If not can I be put under anesthesia?? I am terrified and I can NOT wear flip flops to work/ nor can i take off from work. is there some sort of boot thing I can wear instead with padding?

@sarahsmiles1809 They will most likely not remove the toenail. The shots hurt, but once the shots are done you wont feel squat. It's definitely worth getting done.

@nicholasjonasluver16 i had it doen for the second time yesterday. lol they bodged one of my toes up so i had to have it done again. i didn't have any numbing when they did the injections and they hurt but its nice to have someone there to talk to becuase it takes your mind off it. Your toe goes numb after that so it doesn't hurt. I had it done firstly on two toes when i was twelve and then yesterday (and i'm 14 now) don't worry about it you'll be fine :)

I been through this twice first time was the left big toe an the second time was the left and right big toe both times were in late spring. only said fuck once youll be lucky if the drugs work all the way but if theres two toes youll feel one toe all the way an the other one not.

My doc got all pro on me and used a clever cocktail of Xylocaine(Lidocaine, same thing) and Adrenaline, the latter which makes the blood vessels contract so the bleeding is very limited.

I had an ingrown toenail removed yesterday. The worst part was the Shot for sure. That was brutal. The removal was easy yet all night my toe was throbbing. Woke up today and I am walking on it like normal. Gonna finish Antibiotics and then I will be done. Hopefully it never comes back. I wish I would have recorded mine.
