@LaCageAuxGypsy Unless you have a girl who knows how to act. A girl recently played Pirelli at my high school and she did very well; she sang the songs in the original key, and actually looked/acted like a man. I haven't heard anyone who saw the production say otherwise.

@LaCageAuxGypsy I agree completely re: Sweeney. However, I think a girl can pull of playing Pirelli, if she makes an effort to butch it up (voice, walk, posture, etc). I've seen it done quite well in other productions, sorry MRT :/

@LaCageAuxGypsy super super super super super agreed. This is probably my favorite role to perform, and I am just distraught every time I hear someone horrible sing this girl or guy. The revival Pirelli was awful. The movie Pirelli was so static and boring. Lame. Maybe someone will tape my performance of it next month and show these people how it's supposed to be done...
