This Surah is the Surah of disavowal (renunciation) from the deeds of the idolators. It commands a complete disavowal of that.
It has been said that in their ignorance they invited the Messenger of Allah to worship their idols for a year and they would (in turn) worship his God for a year. Therefore, Allah revealed this Surah.
This surah reveals the truth of tolerence & choice of the individual regarding religion, it repudiates the so-called concept of forcing belief either by the sword or through compulsion.
A very definative affirmative to the the question of individual choice regarding faith.

There is not a single one mistake in the Qur'an about the earth or any other scientific fact. If you mean the statement "earth being flat" it means flat to inhabit, not a flat space. As for the human creation, it is also a scientific fact, Allah creates man from earth(minerals, proteins, elements are ALL found in actual earth), and from sperm, which is clear already.
The quran is so vague, that with a little imagination it can be interpreted however anyone wants to, such as your example with "flat to inhabit". Also, it never mentions that the sun is actually a "star", nor does it mention that the stars are actually "suns". Of course if your religion is what helps you live your life, then stay with it. Just be advised that 80% of the world's population doesn't agree with you.

This Surah is the Surah of disavowal (renunciation) from the deeds of the idolators. It commands a complete disavowal of that.
It has been said that in their ignorance they invited the Messenger of Allah to worship their idols for a year and they would (in turn) worship his God for a year. Therefore, Allah revealed this Surah.

Please get psychiatric help somewhere my friend. It is you who is a disease to the world, as were the arabic me who wrote the quran. Also, I don't tell people that they are destined for eternal hell fire becasue they don't believe what I believe, where as you do. Many peope leave islam, and I think you should as well. You are numbered at over a 1 billion (far less if you exclude muslims who don't practice) and yet only 1% of the world's scientific papers were written by muslims since 2005.

There is not a single one mistake in the Qur'an about the earth or any other scientific fact. If you mean the statement "earth being flat" it means flat to inhabit, not a flat space. As for the human creation, it is also a scientific fact, Allah creates man from earth(minerals, proteins, elements are ALL found in actual earth), and from sperm, which is clear already.

yasser arafat is dead. how he died and what he faces after death depends on what he did during his life. Allah S.W.T. (Al-hakam) will judge him. not me. one of my muslim friends died because of his enemy's envy in which they use secret arts to kill him. they went after his family but by prayers to Allah S.W.T. (Ar-Rahman, Ar-Rahim) we manage to stop them. My late grand father had the same problem with enemies using secret arts. he was a righteous muslim with iman and taqwa, his enemies failed.

Your holy book also suggest in numerous suras that the earth is "flat".
(sura 15:19, 20:53, 43:10, 50:7, 71:19).
This planet has only been able to sustain life forms on some of its surface, some of the time. The quran is mere book of philosophy, and is a dervitive of earlier religions.

johnqrandom, when you travel do you use your feet or change the properties of matter that forms your body. when you synthesis organic tissue do you use available dna? if you're really clever could you just use base elements on the periodic table? you only can make useful material from other available material. could you make matter and anti matter? Allah S.W.T. made the contents in the world in pairs--> male-female, proton-electron, matter-antimatter, believers-nonbelievers. do you read arabic??

No, allah didn't do or comtemplate any of these things, because allah doesn't exist, and fancy scientific rhetoric will do nothing for your argument.
The quran, which I have read, was never considered a science book until men such as Dr. Maurice Bucaille, a French physician began making claims that the quran revealed "scintific evidence" or "miracles" as you may call them.
Since then, muslim clerics have been desperate to conect the quran's poetry with modern science.

johnqrandom, the prophet Muhamad s.a.w. (peace be upon him) is a human being. he did not create the universe. he is the messenger of god (Allah S.W.T.) what you look like, how rich you are, what worldly power you have etc. really don't matter. Islam is a religion created by Allah S.W.T. (Ar-Rahman, Ar-rahim, Al-Muhaymin, Al-Mughni, Al-Baqi). those quesions apply to you, so ask yourself. what do you expect to gain in your short life? wealth? power? happiness? does it matter 1400 years from now???
