Was having a look through the titanic original script, (though not sure how 'original' it is) and it included quite a few scenes they probably decided to cut out even before it was filmed.

Crazy Old Broad dumped that Diamond into the Ocean. They should have stuck Her in the Home years ago. But TBH they have no meaning and the whole "True Story" thing would have got out of control, people would think they're putting too much rubbish in it that isn't necessary (Can I spell necessary?!?!), plus if you watch JUST the scene after Titanic hits the iceberg, where everyone is getting to boats and stuff, it's practically three hours long anyway and they had to get on with the film lol. So that's why they cut them.
The second clip should have definitely made the cut. It was such a sweet part. Kate Winslet looks so pretty with porcelain skin and such dark red hair.
Actually, when Rose poses as a "moving picture actress," that actually is more important for the story. But, I think Kate in gorgeous in the "shooting star" scene.

What Rose seems to want is female independence that was granted to women later in the 20th century. She wants to be rich just independently rich and have a career (which entails not having to marry a rich man).

There is no shooting star while Rose is literally staring off into space. You can barely see the Milky Way. But that's it.
In the alternate ending, yes, there was a shooting star. But, that ending would almost be shameful if put back in the film.

i do get what you mean. I think that's why this scene was cut, because the characters wern't portrayed as they were ment to be in some scenes.
