I believe that Mike Swick came into UFC 105 being somewhat fearful of Hardy. You could tell this right from the start of the fight with the way he was so uncharacteristically cautious and tentative in his attack. This is why he lost.

Also, once a fighter suffers a concussion from being knocked-out (as with what happened to Mike during his training a few months back) sometimes fighters are never the same ever again, and are also more susceptible to being knocked out again...hence Chuck Liddell.

Boxers ONLY train boxing, so obviously they will excel at it. MMA fighters train in multiple martial arts because they need to be more well rounded for their sport.
