  • This is at MSR Cresson right?

  • Jeez, everyone needs to relax on the numerical semantics! They're great cars with robust bottom-ends, making it easy (and reasonably cheap) to add lots of power, however one defines that. A simple MP45 SC kit runs $2400, bolts on in a Saturday and, with a pulley upgrade, makes around 200+ hp. No small thing in a 2100-2250 pound car. Sure, you'll need to upgrade the clutch but that's pretty much it. Amazing little machines.

  • Mine is 248 to the wheels turbo and it wasn't expensive at all, and I didn't even really try... Miata's a great car with a great motor

  • god I love the sound of helical roots blowers. so cool :D

  • hydroplane at the end was funny.

  • I'd like to know what all had been done to this to have it up to 300hp with an sc. i planned on doin a mp62 on mine, and i've seen a built motor with coldside mp62 pushin 340+ but nobody has done it near me so i need a mod list

  • to all doubters check his web page and graph!

  • I got a video of me riding in a 300+hp Turbo Miata. It was pretty fun.

  • way to almost hit ur friend!

  • Its deff running close to 10 lbs though

  • Supercharged?

It sounds like it has a different (shorter) exhaust and/or exhaust manifold aswell?

  • thats DEFINENTLY supercharged. and that means its NO WHERE NEAR 300 whp.

closer to 200 is more likely

  • i agree man. Mine has 256 at the wheels and looks a lot stronger than that car.

  • @ErbiRacing i think this guy was not realy reving his motor that much plus its supercharger witch means no turbo lag so you get instant boost and a lot more low end so you dont have to rally abuse or redline the engine, so i think you have a 256 turbo miata,

  • @JgHaverty if you bould the mottor and s/c you can def get over 300 hp from a s/c i mean you can get like 240 just from building a naturally aspirated miata why not 300 from super charger

  • @mauiboypoi you can get around 300 whp from a ridiculous uber charged setup, however, from an MP65, no fucking way. Also, 240 from an N/A miata? that would be one mighty expensive engine. FWIW im talking about whp, not flywheel hp.

  • @JgHaverty you can get alot of power from these engines any way what im saying is if you dont know dont talk trash cuz you dont really know how much horse power im only like this cuz americans cant stop talking shit, thats all they do hateful after hateful comments here on you tube i thing if you dont have nothing nice to say dont say nothing thats why people stop posting videos on here

  • @mauiboypoi the highest out put miata that was supercharged came from an ubercharged miata that flyin miata built. 2.0 stroked motor, biggest s/c they could put on. They got like 320whp. I've been building miatas for years now. I talked no shit, you are the one crying like a baby about it.

    stop trolling faggot.

  • @JgHaverty ok i belive you you might me right all im saying is that people talk to much shit here thats all but hey i actually dont know all that much about miatas or superchargers

  • @JgHaverty If you've been building Miatas for years you'd know that it's MP62, not MP65. And you'd also be familiar with this car and the power it makes. TDR is one of the premier tuners of s/c Miatas.

  • @steveandlee holy jesus typo nazi.... I've seen ONE miata that had over 300whp from a supercharger. It was built by flyin miata using an ubercharger setup, stroked motor, and was completely built to the teeth. If you care to show me a dynograph, I will shut up.

  • @JgHaverty Wow, you're lazy. He links right to the website where the dyno graphs are. Here I'll save you the trouble: 288whp/ 240wtq.

  • @MyOpinionMatterss so you prove what I stated. I still dont see the link to the dyno graph. Thanks. 300whp is not 288whp. they cant get much more then that.

  • @JgHaverty 2 clicks. Website, then Dyno Runs. 288 is damn close to 300. You or I would not be able to tell the difference.

  • @MyOpinionMatterss semantics at this point. I get annoyed with people that think you can slap on a bolt on super charger kit and get over 300 hp. If this car is close to 300 whp, its got a serious amount of money dropped into it. they also wont get much more then that. These people make it sound like its super easy to do this. THATS what Im getting frustrated with.

  • @JgHaverty Agreed. You don't have to get annoyed about it though. Whoever thinks it's cheap is in for an expensive surprise. A 300hp turbo motor would be much cheaper to build. The thing I find hard to believe is the above post which mentions 240hp n/a. I can't even imagine how much that would cost.

  • @MyOpinionMatterss No doubt. I found out the hard way how much miatas cost to build. Too many people also over rate that engine power too often which is why i get annoyed. They think they can slap on a small ass supercharger and get 500 whp like an 03/04 cobra. I cant imagine > 240 whp on an n/a miata O.o 13-1 compression, crazy intake and exhaust.... the targa miata only made like 215 or something like that! that was COMPLETELY built too!

  • MSR as in the Mercedes Benz of sugar land race track? I was just there a few weeks ago. Pretty awesome track.

  • Motorsports Ranch (Cresson, TX)

  • this car holds the track record at MSR btw.
