This video was great, first time I saw this race. This filly is amazing, the most exciting horse to watch imo by far. What a ride she took us on last yr, so deserving of HOTY honors. Love the hand ride by Calvin. Blew the field away.

If Rachel gets to sit off a pace like this and she is 100% fit than Zenyatta will have too much ground to make up as the last furlong was run in under 12 seconds

in this race without being asked. Of course, the competion will be much stronger with such a big purse!

Martha Washington lost its Stakes status. Too bad. This used to be a Grade 3 Stakes race. Nevertheless it still attracts some good horses.

btw: interestingly enough, Afleet Deceit came in 2nd to RA again 2 months later in the Fantasy Stakes (Grade 2).

RA has set 5 new records in 4 graded stakes: Golden Rod (new time record), Martha Washington (new time record), Kentucky Oaks (new winning margin record), Mother Goose (new time record- FASTER than Ruffian) (new winning margin record- previously held by Ruffian). She was also the only horse in Preakness history to win from the far outside position. She rarely gets the whip. How fast would she be if asked more? Still young, what will she be like when she matures? AMAZING!

RA has no fear of zenyatta I can assure you of that zanyatta is really good, and not to be knocked but RA IS IN A LEAGUE OF HER OWN,,,, HELL YOU COULD MAKE AND ARGUMENT FOR HER WINNING THE TRIPLE CROWN, AND SHE CAN GET BETTER BEING SHE IS ONLY A 3 YEAR OLD. Ask any horseman which horse would he rather have zenyatta or ra and I bet that 90% will say that later.

Come up with more excuses. The best horses in the world is coming to California regardless of the surface. Stop using the surface as an excuse, the reason RA is not running in the Breeders is because of Zenyatta. RA run on synthetic last year with no problem. She did it with ease and for Jess to say it's the surface...well..HAHAHAHAHAHAHA­HA..yeah right...sure...why not???? lol

Sad - Rachel is a great horse but I have to agree with Jess. Running her against Zenyatta is very risky at best. Zenyatta is a freaky stretch runner and more than likely will gobble up Rachel.

Agree, she is the best 3 yr old without a doubt. Her Oaks time was off-the-chart fast and her win in the Preakness was impressive out of gate 13 in which she beat the derby winner, MTB. The best in racing of any age are the two fillies, RA and Zenyatta. I thought Zenyatta should have been Horse of the Year last year, not just the best filly. Hopefully, this year RA will take the top prize. She has earned it.

RA is a very good horse but she is not a great horse like Zenyatta...Like I said before RA will be pulled out of Belmont cuz they know she best at 1 1/16 or 1/8...there is no way she was going to win Belmont...NO WAY and her handlers knows this..

The Preakness Stakes is 1 3/16 miles, so Obviously Rachel Alexandra isn't her best at only 1 1/6 or 1 1/8 miles! Her connections were doing what they felt was right for her physically and mentally by not running he in the Belmont. Jess Jackson made the same type of decisions with Curlin. Also, never say never, especially in sports! You have no way of knowing Rachel coudn't have won the Belmont.

Of course it was right for her. Jess made the right decision. She would have a tough time winning Belmont. I would have done the same thing. Rachel is a great horse but she is not a Zenyatta.

I think she is the best Filly in training, definately the best dirt filly i've ever seen, would like to see how she gets on in the breeders cup classic as Zarkarva won the Arc against the colts and older horses last year, she is the best Turf filly and if Rachel won the BCC then i think that would equal that in comparison.
