  • HAHAHA, my milk let down the second I heard Lacey in all of that distress. That's the first time it has happened upon hearing a baby other than Elzie. I can't even imagine dealing with a day like that. You're amazing. I don't know if you have thought about this, but pumping will really ramp up your milk supply. I can now pump almost 8 oz (half a soda can since us crazy americans dont measure like you guys!) in the morning. Message me if you want to know more about my experience with it!

  • Ha Ha! Thats funny, I thought I heard Lacey crying the other night and then I looked down and I had leaked everywhere! Lol. I have been trying to pump in the morinings and it has been helping with the supply, but I can't feed it back to her at any stage as she just won't take the bottle, I know Elzie is quite the opposite and now won't take anything other than the bottle.

  • hi grace!! so good to c ur videos again.. ive been out of it myself the past coupla weeks.. laceys adorable!! my kid hasnt been gaining enuff weight either so ive started giving her two bottles of formula a day sine last wk. i know what u mean abt not wanting to start it, but honestly they feed and sleep so much better! i hope laceys reflux gets better soon so that u and her arnt so exhausted by it.. loking forward to seeing week 11... take care :))

  • Thanks heaps, she is 11.5 weeks now, i really need to do the video today. hopefully I do.

  • Wow you seem to be coping so well with the crying & bad days. I too want to use fitted cloth nappies. Have been doing some research. It's a pity target/kmart/david jones etc. don't stock them. There is a lady who makes them in Nelson Bay NSW so will try to get some of hers. I live in Newcastle (former Bne girl) i think I want the allinones too (no extra pilcher). I can sew, but don't think I want to tackle making them myself. Take care I love your videos. Thanks.....

  • I know, they sell a type of cloth fitted nappy at kmart but it isn't very good, i wouldn't buy them. they can be expensive at first but save you in the long run, all in ones are great, just be sure to get quick drying ones (that would be my tip anyway) some all0in-ones take FOREVER to dry.

  • Hey Grace,

Just wanted to say ur doing a great job, keep up the good work... i have a 16 month old little girl and know how hard it ca get sometimes... esp when u feel soo bad for them and u dont know wat they want... but dont worry before u know it she'll crawling then walking then starting school hahaha it goes soo fast :)

  • I have heard it goes very fast, thanks for the comment.

  • your baby is adorable

  • thanks

  • poor angel! and poor mommy! that end screaming hurt just to watch. Glad to see she is doing better. looking forward to the diapering videos...

  • Great to see, I will have to get the video all set up and get the nappy videos started.

  • Bless her heart! and Bless yours LOL! Lets hope the medicine does the trick and you won't have as many times with her screaming her head off. I've got all this to look forward to very soon and as crazy as it sounds, I can't wait! Have a great week! -Zan

  • It doesn't sound crazy, I would never change this for anything, as much as it is a shock (no matter how much you prepare) I sill love every minute.

  • My baby girl screams like that too, they thought it was reflux..but then I watched what I was eating and noticed it only happened when I ate or drank dairy- so I cut it completely out of my diet and we've had no more screaming or pain. The major sign I went by was that she was drawing up her legs during her fits and I knew that meant digestion pain. You may want to consider if something in your diet is causing her discomfort as well!! Cheers to happier days! :)

  • Hi there, I also think it is something I am eating. I cut down on dairy considerably once I had had her and now whenever I have eggs for breakfast or a bowl of icecream at night or a glass of milk I do notice a difference in her. I will cut out dairy completely and see if that does the trick.

  • Hi Grace,my heart hurt to see poor Lacey in so much pain. Im so glad they prescribed her medicine. Did they keep in mind that one of the reasons she wasnt gaining much weight because she keep spitting it up. I do feed Marianna from both breast and sometimes my milk supply is way up there and it hurts. If Marianna doesnt drink enough and it still hurts I pump it out which signals my breast to produce more. Try that pump if you need too.

    XOXO

    Vivian and Marianna

  • Yeh I am, thanks. I pump if they are really full and she won't have any more then I can up my supply. They said because she only does 1-2 projectile vomits a week it didn't matter.

  • What on earth did they give her???? Was the words "happy drugs" written in fine print at the bottom of the bottle?...hehe

  • HA ha, we hadn't given her any drugs at that stage, I only started her on them today, lol.

  • Hi Grace, Sorry i havent talked to u in awhile! I am glad that medicine is helping Lacey with the reflux! How are you and Simon feeling???? Hope to hear from you soon!

    Lisa xoxo

  • Thats okay, i hope you are well. We are good, I am tired ALL the time with no energy to do anything.

  • When she smiles with her tongue out makes me smile everytime =D

  • Same with me!

  • Hey Grace and Lacey!

Yeah that looked like a LONG day! I hope the doctors can figure something out so you and Lacey can get some relief.

Ahh a day out at the gym..lucky..lol

    Carina

  • It was a 'day' out at the gym, more like an hour and a half with racing home to feed her because Simon had her crying at home for the past hour (lol), not as stress free as I'd hoped :D

  • I hope the medicine helps her tummy feel better, poor baby! She definitely sounds like she's in pain. I have a question about the cloth diapers (nappies..hehe). My fiance's mom bought us some for our baby and I have never had the opportunity to use cloth before. You say you change her about 8 times a day..does that include the nighttime? I'm trying to figure out how many I'll need to have on hand day-to-day. Thanks!

  • Hi there, I used to change her before or after her night feed too but now I wake her at around 10 or 11 for a feed (then I change her nappy, then she isn't up till early morning for her next feed and I change her then also. I would have 10-12 nappies in the early days on hand per day. SOmetimes I just change her nappy and while she is lying on the changetable she poos in her clean nappy and I have to change her again, using two nappies in one change.

  • Hi Grace so glad your doing well. Im sorry lacy has reflux i really hope the medicine helps her. poor baby. she is growing up so pretty. my little one is three weeks younger than yours, its neat to see them grow! keep up the good work!

  • It is great seeing them grow and change everyday, do you make videos? I'll have to look on your page.

  • Aww! Its good to see that the doctor helped her out and she is a happy girl now! I will understand when my baby comes along how frusterating it probably is to not know whats wrong and how to make the baby happy. Looks like you are doing agreat job at being a mommy! Keep up the good work!

  • Thanks, sometimes I wonder if I'm doing the right thing. I just be there for her and look after her the best I can.

  • Have you tried elevating her cot mattress with rolled up toels underneath the head of it? That will keep her on an angle and will help enormously with the reflux, and make it easier for her to sleep =)

  • Yep I have :D

  • sorry Grace i bet its a handfull even tho we all know you love her ...anyways shes getting so big and im happy your going back to the gym its like mum time for you

  • It is Mum time but the whole time I was there I was thinking of LAcey and hoping she was okay, I missed her so much (ha ha) I was only gone an hour and a half.

  • Ah, the calm after the storm. Or is it before another one? I believe that half the battle to get through days like this is to keep calm. And you do that well! Good job! I hope the medicine will do it's thing and make Lacey (and you) feel better.

    Mary (Anthony 12 weeks)

  • Yes I agree. Sometimes it is before another one! :D I think everything is okay and then all of a sudden...BANG she is off again. oh the joys.

  • Wow, 10 weeks already. It's sad how fast the time is going.

Lacey is so darling, and you look great Grace!!!

  • Thanks, I don't feel "normal" yet but I feel alright, 10 weeks has flown everyday flows into the next.

  • Aww..poor baby! She seemed like she was in so much pain!I really hope that the medication helps!! For her sake and for your sanity!!

  • Yep so do I!

  • aww bless, lots of love to lacey, hope she is better soon and is putting on more weight !!

You deserve a medal for your patience, most mums would have gone into melt down by now!!! LOVE your videos, keep em goin. xxxx

  • Thanks, I will keep em coming. I gotta be patient, its no good being uptight or anxious, it'd make the baby worse I think.

  • Hi Grace, I love watching your videos. You seem to be such a patient mum, Lacey is very lucky. I hope that medication helps. She just looked so cute sitting in her swing, I bet that smile can make any challenging day a little brighter!

  • Definatley!! Those little smiles make everything worth while! I went to the gym last night and all I could think about was Lacey, I missed her so much...lol, I was only gone an hour and a half.

  • aww I am so glad to see that she was happy in the end, you're amazing for being so calm, I'm glad its not me, I was freaking out just hearing her scream lol. I hope she gets better really fast :)

  • I hope she gets better fast too. We actually had some friends around the other day and Lacey screamed the whole time they were here and my friend was getting really upset (crying) seeing Lacey in pain.

  • Hi,my little girl had reflux really bad, non stop screaming all day for about 6 weeks and thats when we found out she had it.The doc gave us Zantac for it, she had 1ml morning and night. Its so hard seeing them in pain.Chloe is now 7 months old and shes been good for about 2 months,.The dcotor said she would have to be on it for about 6 months and it takes a few weeks to start working but we saw a difference in her within a few days. Hope Lacey gets better soon :)

  • I hope she does too, the doctor said to use it for 30 days then stop for a few days and if it comes back keep using it for another 30 days and keep doing that until it doesn't return (does that make sense?). It is awful seeing them in pain and there is nothing you can do.

  • She's getting sooo big! I hope she gets better soon!! Also I hope you can continue to breastfeed. I had to stop because of my son not putting on weight and I felt terrible for a long time.

  • Yeh I feel terrible just thinking about stopping breastfeeding. I have also heard though that she will feed better once she is on the medication and will start to gain the right amount of weight, hopefully this will happen.

  • You're amazing, Grace. I don't know how you can be so in control and happy when Lacey is being difficult. Friends of ours have just put their baby on reflux medication and it worked brilliantly so I hope it's the same for Lacey and you can get a bit more rest next week!! xx

  • Yeh I have heard it really works well so I hope it does for us too, thanks.

  • Aww, it was so good to see her happy at the end. What a calm mummy you are! I'm glad that it was nothing serious and that the medicine will do the trick! You both look great!

  • Thank you, I have to try and be calm, its the only thing I can do.
