  • So when you go to naval academy but you want to join the marines, will they separate the two?

  • @babbie012295 Your service selection fall of your senior year comes down to your preferences, your performance, and the needs of the Navy and Marine Corps (and not in that order). For example, my class commissioned about 260 Marine officers and around 750 Navy officers. I commissioned a Marine, but they tried to make me go submarines. Just goes to so you the needs of the Navy take priority.

  • @adamfranklin1126 oh i see. so naval academy is just like college? 4 years in it? so that means yu dont have to go to OCS.

  • @babbie012295 You don't go to OCS. The Marines on the yard screen and evaluate the midn's who wish to commission into the Marine Corps. The only similarity between the Academy and a normal college is that you graduate with a B.S.. That's about the only similarity.

  • @babbie012295 No, they don't separate the midn based on sevrice selection. Depending on which service selection you want, you may participate in different summer trainings. Also, some of the classes your senior year will be different. For example, Marine selects will that USMC JO practicum and martial arts while aviators will take aviation practicum and adv. swimming.

  • @adamfranklin1126 oh wow. okaay thanks ^__^

  • I'm an Air Cadet in the RCAC and I had the chance to meet a recruiter during an Oshkosh trip. US Navy truly amazed me. Respect to everyone who just joined!

  • great vid

  • are you attending? i got into the Air Force academy..im not going however

  • @aviator147 why not?

  • @aviator147 out of curiosity, if you went through the rigorous admissions process, got nominated, etc. and got accepted into one of the academies, why did you choose to not attend?

  • @Benelli321 ...i dont want the 10 yr commitment after graduation =D

  • @aviator147 there isn't a 10year commitment...the length of commitment depends on what you want to do after you graduate...Pilots have to be in longer since they have to go to flight school
