The JD-800 has great distorted guitar , synth and brass sounds, that are all tweekable in a live show . Who cares what programer or DJ uses it for house music .
Of course you can use a JD-800 in a rockband but if you go looking in Wikipedia which famous artists are using/used a JD-800 in their music, I don't see hardly rockbands in the list.Only Genesis has used one.And it's not because a JD-800 has no sequencer that it's not used widely in house and trance.The list of electronic artists I mentioned proves the contrary.
@turquoisecapricorn I own three JD-800's and I use them in rock bands. Trance and house music is sequencer based and the JD-800 does not have one. That's like saying a grand piano is only for classical music.
