I lived in California and move to Tyler over the summer, I must say it's pretty bad in Texas...Driving is terrible, the roads are terrible and they have like 5 branches of police. I mean holy shit, I miss cali already.

Thank you for this video. I haven't been in Tyler for almost seven years, and I miss it, but this video was a kick! Driving by the hospital, and Green Acres, and the old spot where Hobby Lobby USED to be, before moving to the old KMart building. It's too bad not everyone enjoyed it. I guess the rule of thumb is, if you don't understand why someone put a certain clip on YouTube, then shut up lol. I appreciated it. And I think the people in East Texas are awesome.

So you guys who've grown up in Tyler and talk trash about it, just know that there are WORSE towns out there. Those of you from big cities, you're just not used to small towns. I am a Christian but I'm not as avid as about 85% of Tyler is, and I never heard the end of the criticism for not knowing my place every Sunday. And on top of all that, they are greedy, very true. I ran a women's gym in Tyler for a few years and when we had a full house, the conversations were ALWAYS about church or vacation bible school. I don't miss that place at all.

There are a ton of things to do in Tyler like several clubs if you are into that, lots of bars, a great civic theater, UT has a large campus, Tyler Junior College, a lot of shopping, theaters, golf courses, Annual Ceremonial Festivals, 10K runs, bike races, Indoor shooting range, Sports bars, indoor and outdoor skate parks, several city parks, Adult and children's city league sports, and tons of other options.

What is there to do in larger cities that Tyler doesn't offer?

Not that anyone would give a darn but just for the record this video starts in the medical district heading south on Beckham. The video will end heading south on Paluxy heading to the intersection with Shiloh Rd.

The biggest problem with this town IMO is that Tyler has a lot of red lights. There is no freeway anywhere in this town of over 100000 ppl. If you have little patience with constant stop and go traffic then Tyler wouldn't please you too much. Make Loop 323 a freeway already!

To me Nacogdoches and Lufkin still look like small towns, but they've got it right. Combine the population of the two and you still would not have the population of Tyler. Yet both of these small towns have freeways around their loops. The result: It don't take 20-30 min to get to the other side of town! What a concept!!

I HATED LIVING IN TLYER! 2 years of my life down the drain in that town. The pay was crap, so I was stuck and couldnt move. The people are always in your business. Its a dry county out there. They vote down liquor every year, yet they are the ones in the bars and crowding the liquor stores in the next county. You get scoffed at if you are not part of a church.
