Various Mayors tried to make it better. But, at one time you could get a job anywhere---LV Dairy, Beth Steel, Mack, Western Elect. Now there is nothing, so the dumb asses gang bang, sell drugs and shoot people. I think Atown is now reflective, more than ever, of a sad declining USA that will never recover. I know that in my lifetime Atown has never recovered.

I think I have to make a statement right now. I didn't intend for this vid to come off as a racist analysis of Allentown. I think I am commenting on how bad things have gotten. When I lived there, I interacted with blacks, PR's etc... I can recall drinking at black bars, I was infatuated with a PR woman I worked with. What I am trying to say is that dumb asses from NY and NJ move in and changed the dynamics of the city. It truly is a shit city now for crime and general attitude.

lived there a good portion of my life, it gets worse every time i go back, ms-13 is a big gang that is taking over, and no one is doing anything about it. its like a steven king town in one of his novel's. a woman i was married too, lived on 7th street, and raised my two kids there, the kids always told me of the drug dealings and gun shots they would hear. i lived on the south side, mountainville, that got worse too, miss yacco's and cheese steaks, but that is it.

It's terrible to consider ourselves "lucky" not to live there but you right. The quality of live there is tragic. It's either you're living in the "hood" or you're running away and complaining about the "hood", all the while you're life is stagnant. Also in your video you used the word "Decay" to describe the city but again you're absoutly correctly. The streets, houses, sidewalks etc.... is decaying right before your eyes. Again, "death & failure." You can never go back home right?

Wow I was born and raised in Allentown. After college I moved on etc... it's been 20 years now. From time to time I'm sucked back and drive through town and the old neighborhood and I'm flabergasted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I drove though my old neighborhood the last time I was there (about 3 months ago) and the impression I got was "death & failure"..... You kept saying the term "it's sad", that's what I say every time. It was once a really cool place to live. RIP Allentown.

i lived in allentown for fourteen years. i know everyone in a-town, and if i don't, my parents do, my family was well known there by the majority of latinos. i remember when a-town used to be so nice and clean and there was less violence and more positive character, but since ppl from philly and new york came out, everything turned into drugs, domestic violence and sex. i moved to katy, texas six months ago, but i still miss my allentown :(

I live on 11th and Hamilton and everyday there is more fgrabge in the streets, more lodud and obnoxious people, more cars blasting, and music from shitty speakers that rattle to name a very few things. Let us also not forget that now if you come into the city from Walbert Avenue the first thing that you see is a landfill. Once I get a second job I am out of here.

I have lived in Allentown all my life. It used to be a nice, quiet, friendly, virtually crime free place, UNTIL the minorities started to fill it up. Call it racist if you want to, but it is a FACT! Allentown now, just like every other place they invade, has been destroyed. They move in ruin the houses, blast music from the house, and their cars, rev their loud cars up day, and night, litter, let their kids run the streets... Look at the proof, like it or not, it's 100% true.

There are actually alot of nice places in Atown, and you know what, there are a hell of alot of nice people as well. There are alot of schools/colleges here and there are some very educated people in this town. There are some drug problems here, but show me a place where there isnt.....
