I luv the 2faced Kabuki, but when I used it, I didnt retract it like that, felt it defeated the purpose of it being a Buki brush.. Its the softest brush ever made ! worth every penny

omgosh, I thought I was allergic to bare minerals also hahaha, thanks for saying it was the brushes ! Because my face ALWAYS itched when I wore it and so I stopped :o thanks for that info ! :)
@rozebot you may very well still be allergic to the actual product. some ppl are allergic to bismuth, and i'm not sure if its in the newer formulas, but i know it used to be in the older formulas. check the ingredients, just in case :) but yea, in MY case, it was those scratchy brushes irritating my face. no bueno.
@yellowangel101 i would probably use that powder extremely lightly on top of foundation to seal it, instead of underneath...but its just makeup, so try it and see how it works for you :)
You don't look bad at all without make up. Please could you do two looks for a beginner like me with the coastal 88 color eye shadow palette as I am still trying to find colors that I love. I love the way the too faced kabuki brush evenly blends in the mineral foundation. Please any help would be appreciated. XX
Ok. . . .. . even without makeup, you STILL look amazing. . ...it's almost like you were born w/ makeup on!! Your eyelids, skin and lips looks AMAZING like they already have color on them!!!!
I'm glad you mentioned something about Bare Minerals brushes... sometimes when I put it on my foundation it looks really powdery and gross, haha. I think I will go out and buy the Too Faced kabuki you are using, it looks really nice. Great video, it's helpful and you look wonderful :)
your face is already flawless to begin with.. BUT what a difference it makes after you put on the primer & foundation!! you didn't put a lot & it looked airbrushed!! i'm definitely going to order the diva primer now. I've been putting it off because i still have my napoleon's auto pilot primer which cost me an arm & a leg.
Thank you for using the Coastal Scents Diva Defense Primer, I blindly ordered it! But I love their palettes, brushes, and gel liners- so I figured the mineral makeup would be great :) It looks like it dissipates quickly in your video. I can't wait to get it in the mail now!! Thanks!
i never used it. i swatched it at the mac counter, and i swatched my moms bottle, and its like cake batter thick. i hate the consistency. i think it LOOKS like foundation and it looks like a muddy mask (just my opinion). i hear they break ppl out like crazy so i just steer clear of MAC foundations lol. I prefer my Chanel Mat Lumiere or MUFE HD Foundation or Revlon Colorstay.
@tilena211 When someone doesn't NEED foundation, the foundation does an even better job at giving you the flawless look. An artist does it's best work on a clean canvas! Great skincare is the trick! :o)
i do tend to sweep it over my forehead area, but i dont do it all the time. you can put foundation anywhere on your face, i only put it in areas where i specifically need it, and with that kabuki, it really helps spread it around evenly, and i dont need a ton of it on my forehead because the most un-even parts of my face are below my brows.
Ok. Thank you. Because of this Tut, I went out last night and brougth 2 of those brushes. Only because after I put on the mineral powder with one, I like to also put on the mineral veil afterwards with the other that is good for setting the mineral foundation. They recommend not using the same brush for both. I used it this morning and all I have to say is THANK YOU GIRL!!! :-)
OMG u are so pretty!!!!! O_o are u a model? are u a professional make up artist?..you are very talented! I have just subscribed :-) do u think mineral make up is better than other make up? would it suit dry skin? I don't use foundation but would like to try..I have very deep set eyes and dark circles.. What is a good primer for the eye area? my skin in very dry ...i don't have oily skin problems...should I use a primer and/or foundation? THANK YOU take care xxx
thank you hun <3 nah im not a model LOL. not a pro. just an average chick who has a serious addiction to all things beauty related LOL. but i will send you an email to answer the rest of your questions since youtube has that silly character limit in the comments section <3

Hello!! I just subcribed to you from muffinismylovers; and I love your channel!! (thanks April!) This look has just become my new everyday look!! I look forward to watching your collection of videos!! (i've already seen the organization vids...A+++!!!)
Wow your makeup looks beautiful. I looked at other Bare mineral tutorial(done by black women) and I've gotten mixed messages on whether or not I should get. I've been told its not good for black women, its ashy, or it doesn't make a different.. I'm close to the same complexion as you. I'm a caramel complexion with yellow undertones and acne prone oily skin with acne scars. Is it really worth paying for? Thanks girl
you should definitely try it. They usually offer sample size trials. For me, it's not ashy at all. Just make sure you find a match good for you, I use Tan. I sometimes set it with MAC Fix+ and it looks even more flawless. Are you near an Ulta?
thank you for that video it was nice. tell mr if that face primer is good by coastalscent because iam sensitve with my skin. bare essentuls for 4 yaears and then i plly my mac blotting powder it.
BE is the best I've tried. I've been wanting to try Pur Minerals but then again, I hear really bad reviews...so I just kinda stayed with this one. There was another one I tried, and it was decent, but it made me look orangey.
hey.... nice video and I love your eyeshadow.... Girl please .. you did not look bad AT ALL without makeup...now me on the other hand....... WHOA call the ambulance lol
how do you like the primer? does it keep your makeup long lasting through out the day? i find that the smashbox and mac matte primer dont do that for me.
i really love it! it keeps the oil away pretty much all day for me. if i ever have to blot, its only once. when i dont use it, i have to blot at least 5x thru the day LOL. and it keeps my mineral foundation fresh all day. i never have to retouch.
that whole silica thing was blown waaay out of proportion. yes, just inhaling silica can be very dangerous (in the long-run). but when it's used as an ingredient in normal cosmetics, it's not harmful. it's used in small doses and it's ground to a particle size that just isn't going to harm you. you gotta make sure you do the research on the product first, because all of this "controversy" is really making a mountain out of a mole-hill.
ok i'm gonna try to reply again because it's now showing up lol. but you can get the Smashbox primer from sephora. and the MAC Matte gel from any MAC store, counter or if you live near a CCO, they sell it there too, but about five bucks cheaper :)
ya they do need to get it together right..lol i hate their brushes. i actually returned mines hehe and i started using loreal bare naturale's foundation and mineral skin finish its like the mineral veil and i love it. it doesnt make my face itch.
thank you! BM makes the harshest brushes ever. and that really sucks because i think their actual foundation is amazing. they need to get it together lol.
youre sooo beautiful too! hmm that primer ...i may have to get! I dont use bare minerals for the reason that it makes my skin oily! ahh kabuki baby...hotness! see you in specktra lol
thank you! its a Canon A620. It's a great camera, but there are better ones out there and I plan to get one thats better. This one is pretty old. I've had it for at least 3 years now. But dont get me wrong, its awesome...i just want a newer one lol.
thank you, and you should definitely try the primer. they sell it in a sample size jar so you can try before you buy the big jar.
I definitely prefer my TF kabuki over the 187. The 187 is great for liquid foundation though. any creamy blush, and just about anything else. its great for that. but i get more control with the TF brush and it smooths it onto my face flawlessly. it can make you look photoshopped lol.
hey britt :) you must buy the brush. do it do it do it!! haha. its so convenient, you can take it anywhere. and thank you! have you tried mineral foundation yet? if you use the TF kabuki with it, it'll make you look flawless. i just wish BM had better brushes. their brushes irritate almost everyone who uses them. sucks!
all im gonna say is...you..must...buy..it LOL!!! its the softest brush in the world. period. and its compact and can be taken with you anywhere. its washable and the fibers do not come out. its very sturdy. its perfect for giving you a flawless look with any product you use it with. i HIIIIIGGGHHLLLLYYY recommend it!
i also used this other brand called Mineral Essence. It made my face kinda orangey. like, it looked way too weird. and the minerals weren't as finely milled as Bare Minerals. BM is way creamier and smooth and so easy to blend and melt into your skin. I may try Sheer Cover, but only if i can get my hands on a sample LOL
definitely try a sample of ANYTHING first. because as we all know, everything works differently for everybody. you can get samples from Sephora or Ulta i believe. Even try checking out the bareminerals website. they might offer samples. just dont use their brushes lol. they suck. they can irritate the shit outta your skin. wack.

great tutorial!I agree that brushes what we use to apply makeup is the key to flawless look, not just the face ,even we can get airbrushed eye makeup if we use the right brushes...I too have the too faced kabuki, love it,I use it for MSFs and Mineralize blushes!
thank you! and yes, you're exactly right. my mom gave up on BM because she was like "its too powdery" but i gave her a TFKB and she fell back in love. its all about the brush lol. use a shitty brush and you'll get shitty results.<3

idledreams24 3 years ago
that whole silica thing was blown waaay out of proportion. yes, just inhaling silica can be very dangerous (in the long-run). but when it's used as an ingredient in normal cosmetics, it's not harmful. it's used in small doses and it's ground to a particle size that just isn't going to harm you. you gotta make sure you do the research on the product first, because all of this "controversy" is really making a mountain out of a mole-hill.

thank you, and you should definitely try the primer. they sell it in a sample size jar so you can try before you buy the big jar.
I definitely prefer my TF kabuki over the 187. The 187 is great for liquid foundation though. any creamy blush, and just about anything else. its great for that. but i get more control with the TF brush and it smooths it onto my face flawlessly. it can make you look photoshopped lol.

TheAccidentalBeauty 3 years ago
i love it, is bare essentials the healthiest mineral makeup, (better than sheer cover)??
michaeljacksonmyidol 3 years ago
Hi there, I'm not sure because I've never used Sheer Cover, but here is a list of ingredients for both. SC has more stuff in it :/
Sheer Cover: Zinc Oxide, Boron Nitride, Bisabolol, Aspalathus Linearis Leaf Extract, Mica, Bismuth Oxychloride, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides
Bare Minerals: Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Mica, Iron Oxide, Bismuth Oxychloride
Some people are allergic to Bismuth, but it depends on your skin. I have very sensitive skin and it doesn't bother me AT ALL.
TRY BOTH! :)
TheAccidentalBeauty 3 years ago
ok thanks. have u tried sheer cover thou? from what i've seen the bare essentials seems to look more nautral & skin like...
btw, i love ur username accidentalbeauty! lol

i also used this other brand called Mineral Essence. It made my face kinda orangey. like, it looked way too weird. and the minerals weren't as finely milled as Bare Minerals.
