I have an '06 Golf/Rabbit 4/5 door. Two months ago I was double rearended while stopped.A big Dodge truck doing 55 rammed a coasting full-sized Oldsmobile, pushing it into me.The other car's engine compartments were staved in,all glass shattered.Needless to say, both were totalled and undriveable.I drove off with a dented rear gate,my glass wasn't even cracked. It did knock my baseball cap off, though.
@dragoscorca what makes you think the golf got 3 stars ????? have you ever checked it in the euro ncap website ? don't bother ... i'll tell you .. it has the maximum of 5 stars ... not 3 ...
@dragoscorca well your dacia may have 3 stars on those ncap, but it won't be as comfy and refinshed as a Golf mark4 .
And I bet a Golf mark 4 is safer as your dacia, because it is more stable and has better brakes to first of all avoid collisions
your dacia is just a Dacia, worthless seats and cheap interior makes this car just a boring object and bad drivers car, it will hurt your back if you drive it too long
@215alessio No shit.... The seats are Softer in the Dacia than in the VW... so are more comfy...In fact i Drived a vw like this. And the interiors come fitted with an optional wooden dash and USB socket with sat nav. As for brakes....They are actioned by a new McPherson system electronically activated... just push the brake pedal a bit..and the car stops. As for the engine...Dacia is prepariong to Launch a new 1.8 l engine with 150-175 HP ..But the Golf it`s till an respectable car(maybe better)
Genau diesen aufprall, also bei 70kmh (aufprallzone etwas seitlich richtung fahrer) hatte ich auch im Sommer. Wunderbares Auto, klar ist es schrott- Aber ich hatte nur ein paar prellungen ;)... Wer überleben will fährt Volkswagen ;-)
I much prefer Golf to the Focus. Focus got 5 stars but thats only for crash test. Don't beleive all of what people say about the Focus 2.0TDCi. They are a pile of unreliable shittt. in 30K mine had Worn Injectors, countless Interior electrical problems, knackered control blade suspension, rough gearbox it was awful!
This car is always the best! German cars for ever!

Im happy to see it standing up quite well!! I feel safer, though rather than getting too worked up about crash tests, just try not to crash!

these test look pretty goo for the mkv but we also need to know the speeds during colision...
aiolosply 3 years ago
60km/h before the crash if i remember correctly
toastedsmith 3 years ago
for euroncap it's a 64kph(40mph)frontal-offset, which does more damage than a full-frontal of the same speed

I'm not a crash test expert but it seems to not have done to bad. I own a GTI MKV and I think it is a great car.
