Many people think if you have mp3 inside a mobile phone you dont need a dedicated mp3 player. That depends on how long you listen. You drain the battery listening to music on a mobile phone and you cant use the phone for what you are really meant to use it for

Ok. soooo... in compare with ipod classic/nano 4g (that's what I've been using for last 4yrs), is this thingy a step forward? I don't need much memory space, 8gb is more than enough, but controls and sound quality... better, worse, the same??

Definitely better sound. Philips, Sony, Creative and some others have better sound quality to the Ipod. Ipod sound quality is mediocre for the high cost.

Keep in mind that with good earphones, anything will sound good, even an ipod :-)

i heard that this media player lose the clock memory each time it is turned off and you have to adjust it each time you turn the device on. it's very annoying. :(

@abuammrah Zen x-fi2 is the bomb until the screen cracks then your screwed because for what i know you cannot buy replacements. but it's a very good portable Flash drive

touch screen response fails on x-fi2 i was just testing both mp3 players. You really have to sometimes push it hard to get response. The philips felt more solid and the screen looked brighter/ higher quality... Almost went for the philips but eventually decided to go for the sony nwz-844(b) best screen quality and i like sony better...it may be hard to find info about the 844 model try 845 same mp3 but 16gb instead of 8gb

Question about this player, I currently have a creative zen with sd card support and it bites, if your playing albums of the card and turn the player off and back on it doesnt remember what you were playing and you have to go back to the card menu, build it all over again. Very annoying. My Sansa View had full card intergration. How is the Phillips in this regard.

@radiogirl83 Hey....is it made from alu frame or plastic ? Have you watched any movies yet ? I have gogear sa5285bt with their '' full sound '' technology, so i presume this one has it too. I did notice when full sound is turned on, it reduces the bass effect on all earphones.

I don't own this MP4 Player yet but I have always seen Sony at the forefront with audio quality, there headphones/earphones are amazing and I own both. But you need the MP3 player to then produce the quality as well in which case Sony don't fail... Not to be biased though Samsung DNSE is good as well, however I need to hear the Philips now, it has potential.

I bought one in the Netherlands. Just great app!! Good video quality even with subtitles.

Only one thing doesn't work!

When I put in a microSD of 16GB (Philips says that the max is 32 GB) and I start the MUSE again it gives no sound. Not witj MP3 not with movies (although they play) and not with the tuner.

Anyone with the same problem?

I think it is a software issue!

Hi ! Very nice little review . I am just like u using the apple ipod(s) over the last few years. but this philips gogear muse looks really interesting - guess it´ll be my next mp3-player (or mp4-player :-)) I really like your reviews, keep on goin´.

by the way: i recognized in every of the videos I watched from your channel the red-light from your cam. maybe you should paste something over it !?
