@rmathew2 Yeah, in the his book "the hitman" he says that hawk took three placidyls right before they went into the ring and the hart foundation and animal had to carry the entire match.
Pretty cool match to watch. I never knew they wrestled at that time in WWF. Thxs for posting. It brought back many good memories. Two best tag teams ever to stepped in the ring.
this is the match that Bret talks about is his book. Hawk downed some placidyls before the match and was impaired the entire match, hence hawk selling the entire match and the other 3 carrying him through. Bret says in the book he was really disappointed cause this could have been a memorable dream match for the fans and the guys, instead was forgettable.
oh dude i gotta dissagree with your view of the commentators. gorilla monsoon is a legend and v mcmahon was decent as a heel commentator (although i dont know if this is him)
Today's WWE teams suck compared to both of these teams. And The Bulldogs, The Rock and Roll Express, The Midnite Express, the Midnite rockerswould put any of todays WWE or TNA's teams to shame
That's the wrestling that I remember! These guys had class and respect for each other. That's the way it should be. LOD, Hart Foundation, Demolition and British Bulldogs were all top notch teams. Nobody compares to them in todays WWE.
Two great Tag teams! Its sad that there are few note worthy teams today and when they try to produce a new team the booking is so bad they just fail. They also lack any identity whatsoever. WWE should really make it high on there agenda to fix the tag team problem. It would certainly contribute to more varied programming and also valuable expierience for "green" competitors.
the hart foundation were tag champs in this match. in his new book he explains, this was taped before WM '91 (where they were going to drop the belts to the nasty boys) but was going to come out on home video after WM aired and they had already lost the belts. so they just didnt come out with them for the taping.
I'd love to have seen a survivor series where LoD and Hart Foundation joined forces... maybe against the Rockers and Demolition/Money Inc... WWF could have done so many more matches.
Bret is all about getting the win.. if you know your not a wimp then what do you care right? L.O.D never had a moment like that i was wrong. Bret was the first to get in the ring with Undertaker while guys like Yoko and Diesel who are over 6'7 would look scared at times.. so its a tactic even though it looks wimpy.
When wrote my comment, I was under the impression that this was 1991 and it was only four month's before Bret IC title win. I couldn't understand why Bret would act like such a dirty heel with the very move wre talking about.
But it's really 1990, so it makes a little more sense.
It still seems weird just because the Harts' would end
up getting the Tag titles at Summerslam 1990 even though they put L.O.D over in this match.
Your Undertaker comment made a lot of sense. Bret never showed Taker any fear. Not even during Taker's debut at Survivor Series 1990. However, at their Royal Rumble 1996 and Summerslam 1997 matches, Taker was made out to look stronger. Bret still showed him no fear.
Its not about being wimpy look at the tactic he pulled. It distracted Animal and got the ref to push him off then they landed the Hart Attack move while the ref was distracted and they olmost won. You gotta pull off tactics like this to beat L.O.D they are stronger and tougher but The HArt Foundation have brains. wimpy? nah.
I know I know what you ment I never seen him run but they had to play the bad guys in a way.. its a bad guy tactic to run in wrestling everyone has had wimpy moments even undertaker and Stonecold.
By the time LOD showed up the Hart Foundation was hardly tag teaming anymore.
Lod came to WWE in August 1990 and had fueds with Demolition and lesser teams.
The Harts lost the titles to the Nasty Boys in March 91 and LOD won the titles from the Nasty's in August of 91 at the same Summerslam that Bret won his first singles title [the IC from Mr.Perfect].
This was one of if not the last tag matches of The real Hart Foundation in there prime.

OH SHIT!!! I thought this was spring 1991, It's really
1990 isn't it?
Than why would the Harts' win the tag titles if they put 'LOD' over?
Does it have something to do with fued between 'Demolition' and 'LOD' after Summerslam '90?
