Actually all of the batteries venting/exploding that you have heard about lately were due to user error. ALL batteries can vent/explode... even protected and LifePO4 batteries.

On a side note Rob is putting out new detonators that will use RCR123a's.

The Chuck does not use the same RS switch.

I have the Chuck and the switch may not be the exact same model, but it is very similar... el cheapo radio shack switch.

The Sleeve does not come out- Yes leave it in!

The jagged cut on the sleeves are meant to help the gasses vent in case of battery malfunction. I don't want a flush cut beteween the sleeve and the circut board- the jagged ness will let venting occur more rapidly if something with the batteries go wrong.

btw- I'm Rob- I made that.  I have DIY video's showing you how to make you own. Glad your enjoying it Xeno- Personally I think they look great. 5 Volts is the Sweet Spot!

It is really a good device, and vapes great. Just gotta keep an eye on those CR2s ;)

It isnt the best looking mod, but it does work pretty well. 5v is definitely a sweet spot.
