Damn you sussed me out! lol! Seriously though, I think if you study history properly you will find that Britain played rather a significant role in the second world war. Nearly half a million people lost their lives you know.
britain's role in world war2 should be slotted between greece and albania. after the batttle of britain it was all about saving the empire with the british;she just happened to have a gaint airstip called engliand that gave her any significance. yes she may have had brave soldiers etc and lost 480,000 dead but on each nov 11th memorial day reference should be made to the red army and american forces which won the war not the dam busrt raid or a mass prison breakout of stalag 13
Mmmmm, you've got a real chip on your shoulder haven't you. I see you are living in Britain and enjoying the freedom that our forefathers fought so hard for. As for refering to us along the lines of Albania and Greece that's a joke! Look at nearly all the major campaigns throughout ww2 and Britain was involved in most of them. Don't forget also, we needn't have got involved in the whole thing at all, we could have quite happily sat back as neutrals and let everyone get on with it!
oh dear another personal attack..chip on my shoudler..you're funny. now lets get down to a major point you made:let me see were there any british soldiers fighting at the battle of moscow, stalingrad, kursk or even berlin..no. The desert was a side show, italy a big blunder (the soft underbelly) and as for normandy the war in europe had already been decided. as for the air war, britain's night bombing of germany should not be over looked. it got results of sorts.
TO Mellow Mustang Remember: War of 1812 America invades Canada gets Butt kicked. Washington DC Sacked White House Burnt.Battle of New Orleans 3 weeks after war finished. All done whilst fighting the French Spanish and French German and Italian Allies.
Englands "empire" was a third world one consisting of lands taken from either smaller and/or poverty stricken nations that were unable to protect themselves. It was mostly rifles against sticks, stones and spears. And you limeys take such pride in that sorry fact don't you? You old world cretinous limey war losing schmucks
Most of the people from the US are of european descent. Many fled from europe to escape the constant war and fighting. That the US is comprised of mostly stolen land from native indians isn't significant I suppose.
The British Empire differs little from the US today anyway. Britain was hugely rich while much of the empire was poor, feeding the bigwigs. Its sort of like how the southern states are pretty much third world. Or atleast a few hundred years behind in the evolutionary chain.
And it's about time you paid your massive debt back to the US too. The reality is that the US has spent a lot more, a hell of a lot more protecting England down through the years. All those US military bases we built and maintained and the military knoweledge that we passed on to England cost you know.
The US has stood alone since it became a nation. The US saved all of Europe from being enslaved in WW2 and ever since. Thats why the US has military bases dotted all over Europe. The US donated millions of dolars of aid to a sinking England for two years before it joined WW2 and with Marshall Aid after WW2 as Englands economy was third world by 1945. Do your homework and try to stop fiddling with your "mates" ass limey girly pamby boy
Ah man you're a card you are. Do you realise that we have just finished paying back your "donation" of over £1075,000,000.00 lent to us back in 1950 at an interest rate of 2%. Can you imagine the value of that kind of money today. I don't know where you get your facts from Bud, but I suggest you do your research before opening your massive opinionated gob! We were the most powerful nation on earth before WW2 with the biggest Navy the world has ever seen - hardly third world is it Dickwad!
American Empire called the United Stated gained by fucking over ill equiped natives and renaging on any treaty that didn't suit. American overseas empire gained by starting war with Spain to promote newspaper sales.
the yanks could not take iraq with out the help of the english....the spanish thought we would be a push over because we are a small island..whow wrong they were..
e gad, This catchy tune is punked up rockabilly. This is an American invention. Iggy Pop was the original punk and rockabilly needs no introduction. One of the guys in the video even has Elvis on the back of his jacket. Good attempt at American music though. Well done. The USA owns you!
I suppose if we want to play it like that almost all modern - particularly american music comes from a hybrid of african black music and western - church music. So basically, its European and african music.
Yeah, you waited for two years to get involved though didn't you while we stood alone. I think you've been watching Saving Private Ryan too much mate.
the uk never stood alone against the germans in 1940..... tell that to the greeks and yugos....their partisans were tying down more axis division then were fighting the british in the desert.... remind me what were the british doing fighting in the desert oh yes dividing their empire in the miiddle and far east. and guess what the germans were just sitting 30 miles away across the channel but britain was too piss shit scared to fight them.. untitl the americans came and held their hands
Yeah yeah yeah. get a life retard. Ever heard of the battle of Britain? "Never before in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few." I don't know what your problem is pal, but I reckon it boils down to a small dick.
the battle of britain lasted for about six months tops..which the british clearly won though the germans shot down more fighters than they lost fighters. mmm let me see 160 german divisions on the eastern front while britain was struggling to fight 3 - 5 german divisions in the desert... as for the small dick comment... obviously a reflection to you own deepseat fears.
You got pretty bent out of shape over my English gay comment didnt you CelticSaxon? One wonders why... Your never one of those limey war losing shirtlifters we all keep hearing about
"assembling the knights and their swords were sharp" this song has such gay lyrics. But then that would explain why its become something of an English anthem wouldn't it
I've always been a fan of eddie's, and now i'm lucky enough to be his friend. He is very approachable and friendly, not to mention kind and he always makes time for his fan's. Yes he's a bit mad, but that's why we love him! He wouldn't be ETP if he wasn't!!
I don't think this is TOTP. I think this from a German tv show. Top of the pops NEVER had the name of the band and song come up on the screen in the MIDDLE of the song. It was always at the beginning and end.
At last my kids don't think i'm an idiot.told them ed was a singer after they saw him on the crystal maze (fantastic programme),they didn't believe me.thanks for the proof
Wakelingwife:- Top song fantastic. If he is a pisshead it's probably due to seeing shite like Justin Timberlake and the never-ending dumb American pseudo rock that we now have to endure or god help us RAP (Retards Attempting Poetry).
I was lucky enough to play drums for Ed for this song on one of the shows of his recent tour and i can assure you whilst he's clearly a bit mad and confused as to his roots (common cockney/royalty descendant) he's very approachable, enthusiastic and just generally a nice guy. Plus he's a small but integral part of Punk history, so £5 isn't bad.. Razorlight charge £18, and they're shit AND wankers.
We have just seen Ed play at Flag in Watford (and had to pay £5 to get in!!)and we found him to be an uptight, overrated, washed up old has been!I have many friends that work at The Flag and all confirm that he is an absolute intoxicated idiot and arrogant towards the public.
The stats r that 98 people turned up and 52 refused to pay 2 see him play!!!
I missed that originally on TOTP, and have waited all this time to see it! I knew a Guy called Rob who had a Yam DOHC 750, used to drink in the Chichester @ Rawreth- he had a connection with the band - think he played bass occasionally. Great post - Thanks.
Geez, i'm like the only American that remembers this band...their videos were funny as heck...hopefully someone posts the original music vids...love these guys! I remember what a mess it was trying to ask for Tenpole Tudor at a record store. Everyone looked at me like an alien.
Not the ONLY American - I knew them originally from Rock Around the Clock (Sex Pistols 2nd album) - and then a college station played 3 Bells a lot, so I went out & sought their albums. GREAT rock & roll band!
haha, I used to go to Discomat or Bleecker Bob's in the West Village in the City trying to find their records when I was like 12 years old. I remember the Discomat guys always looking at me like I didn't know what I was talking about saying he never heard of "Tenpole Strudel". lol.
'OVER THE HILL WITH THE SWORDS OF A THOUSAND MEN!'
Sorry, you had the beginning of the Chorus and it didnt seem right not having the rest lol. Amazing song! I played it at its highest volume and now i think ive gone deaf lol
Ahh the days when bands didnt have to take themselves seriously and had fun while entertaining :)

MellowMustang 3 years ago
You need help mate! Do they have care in the community in your area... or did you just slip through the net?
CelticSaxon 3 years ago
Most of the people from the US are of european descent. Many fled from europe to escape the constant war and fighting. That the US is comprised of mostly stolen land from native indians isn't significant I suppose.
The British Empire differs little from the US today anyway. Britain was hugely rich while much of the empire was poor, feeding the bigwigs. Its sort of like how the southern states are pretty much third world. Or atleast a few hundred years behind in the evolutionary chain.
Asgath 3 years ago 2
And it's about time you paid your massive debt back to the US too. The reality is that the US has spent a lot more, a hell of a lot more protecting England down through the years. All those US military bases we built and maintained and the military knoweledge that we passed on to England cost you know.
MellowMustang 3 years ago
The US has stood alone since it became a nation. The US saved all of Europe from being enslaved in WW2 and ever since. Thats why the US has military bases dotted all over Europe. The US donated millions of dolars of aid to a sinking England for two years before it joined WW2 and with Marshall Aid after WW2 as Englands economy was third world by 1945. Do your homework and try to stop fiddling with your "mates" ass limey girly pamby boy
MellowMustang 3 years ago

American overseas empire gained by starting war with Spain to promote newspaper sales.
balderdashandpiffle 3 years ago
i think it was the red army that saved europe from the nazis and perhaps the americans saved the world from the japanese empire.

e gad, This catchy tune is punked up rockabilly. This is an American invention. Iggy Pop was the original punk and rockabilly needs no introduction. One of the guys in the video even has Elvis on the back of his jacket. Good attempt at American music though. Well done. The USA owns you!
MellowMustang 3 years ago
I suppose if we want to play it like that almost all modern - particularly american music comes from a hybrid of african black music and western - church music. So basically, its European and african music.
Asgath 3 years ago
The US saved your sorry asses back in WW2 you stupid stupid stupid ingrate limey girlyboy.
MellowMustang 3 years ago
Yeah, you waited for two years to get involved though didn't you while we stood alone. I think you've been watching Saving Private Ryan too much mate.
CelticSaxon 3 years ago
the uk never stood alone against the germans in 1940..... tell that to the greeks and yugos....their partisans were tying down more axis division then were fighting the british in the desert.... remind me what were the british doing fighting in the desert oh yes dividing their empire in the miiddle and far east. and guess what the germans were just sitting 30 miles away across the channel but britain was too piss shit scared to fight them.. untitl the americans came and held their hands
shitunot 3 years ago
Yeah yeah yeah. get a life retard. Ever heard of the battle of Britain? "Never before in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few." I don't know what your problem is pal, but I reckon it boils down to a small dick.
CelticSaxon 3 years ago
the battle of britain lasted for about six months tops..which the british clearly won though the germans shot down more fighters than they lost fighters. mmm let me see 160 german divisions on the eastern front while britain was struggling to fight 3 - 5 german divisions in the desert... as for the small dick comment... obviously a reflection to you own deepseat fears.

Peka, are you sure this is TOTP? I don't remember the audience ever sitting around tables. Shuffling around gormlessly sure, but not sitting.
Anyway thanks for the great clip. The bloke really is mad as a fish.

Razorlight charge £18, and they're shit AND wankers.
marioaclopez 4 years ago
We have just seen Ed play at Flag in Watford (and had to pay £5 to get in!!)and we found him to be an uptight, overrated, washed up old has been!I have many friends that work at The Flag and all confirm that he is an absolute intoxicated idiot and arrogant towards the public.
The stats r that 98 people turned up and 52 refused to pay 2 see him play!!!

I remember the Discomat guys always looking at me like I didn't know what I was talking about saying he never heard of "Tenpole Strudel". lol.
