I liked the theme in 90s games where youre some guy just important enough that everyone wants you and the start of the game is where you pick sides and single handedly change the course of history. made you feel badass.
couldn't have said it any better warmaker (not to mention that i'm always a bit baffled at the questions some poeple ask, especially when the game title is in the headline ;-)
@Armyof1993 First of all, I take a rather extreme view on Lucasarts. IMHO, the last good Lucasarts title was in 1999. X-Wing: Alliance, which also happened to be the last of the classic X-Wing / TIE Fighter series. Lucasarts also in that same year started pumping out shovelware... all those Prequel / Ep.I titles. They were REALLY churning out worthless games due to Ep.I and the early 2000's.
Super Bombad Racing, anyone? Force Unleashed I & II come to mind of the more recent titles.
aww ... common x-wing alliance was good, but there were still a few good star wars games after '99: jedi knight 2 jedi outcast and knights of the old republic comes to mind ;) granted they were no longer made by lucasarts themself, but still very good sw-games for that being ^_^
@Medhiv83 Okay, I'll give you those 2 :) But here's the better question: What years did those come out? KOTOR was the most recent of the two, and Lucasarts has been in a drought between XWA and those titles, and most definitely after them. KOTOR 2 was a disastrous, incomplete, buggy sequel.
@Medhiv83 Also, I didn't have gripes about Lucasarts merely publishing the games. The classic X-Wing series was developed by Lawrence Holland's "Totally Games" for example. It's just that the Lucasarts name in gaming is worthless now. There was a time, most especially in the 90s, when seeing the easy to distinguish Lucasarts game box design meant that the game was very likely to be good.

@Sarul666 Minus the RTS command controls, it is more of a time-based stradegy game.

What game is that?

A cutscene at the beginning of an Imperial campaign for a late 90s game called Star Wars Rebellion. Back when Lucasarts was actually a good company.

@Warmaker01 You mean, before The Force Unleashed, before the horribly animated and worded Clone Wars series.
