Nope Your Wrong, The top of the line Silverado 1500 with the 6.0L "Vortec Max" Only Produces 332HP, Look it up on the chevy website first before you argue. Tundra's 5.7L V8 produces 381HP. Simple math dictates that 381 > (greater than) 332.

Not according to their website, the 2010 Hybrid Silverado 1500 with the vortec max engine, produces 332HP.

And Your Specs maybe out of date, but on their site its a 6.0L V8 @ 332HP.

I may be getting my terminology mixed up,however.

initially i was refering to the non-hybrid vortec max with 403 hp..but you have to admit that its pretty impressive how the hybrid has that much hp still gets 21 mpg CITY

@stuntman229 Indeed, hybrid technology is pretty nifty, however, it is not really that "clean" particularly the batteries, i do not know about chevy but with the prius, i know those batteries arent really "eco-friendly". Once the prius gets Lithuium-Ion Batteries and can actually run a reasonable distance on just that power then i might consider getting one. I still would prefer a truck hands down though.

I personally think that my f150 rides quite bit smoother than the tundra i test drove. I had a hard time reaching the radio and ac controls also. Not very ergonomic. I will wait for the new 400 horspower v8 coming for the f150 in a year. I do like the looks of the tundra though.

I have a 2007 Tundra and we love it. The 5.7 power is great and can tow our travel trailer with ease. BUT,it guzzles the hell out of gas, and american truck gets better mileage. Tundra for poor people? Wish that was true, I paid out the ass for one.

He failed to mention that the 2008 Toyota tundra got motor trend truck of the year and that it had the highest towing capacity and got better gas millage, when compared to other trucks in its class.

actually foober1 is right. the tundra 5.7 is junk. trust me i helped out at a toyota dealership, the tundras were in there all the time with the motors pulled out or half apart. and the braking systems had issues. but the cams were the biggest problem. the smaller v8 is good but is still a gas hog. and as far as towing goes, the ford actually has a fully boxed in frame, instead of that c frame and can handle the load where as the toyota just says they can move a heavier load.
