think about it it just after the seven hour war that they put up the suppression field therefore by the time gordon freeman arrives in city 17 there are no children so you have to leave enough time in-between the black mesa incident and gordon's arrival for all the children in the world to grow up leaving about 20 or so years.

You really think an average person would attack a crab he just saw kill a much better armed soldier? And don't forget the combine's massive machinery. Many would rather run than fight. And those that stay would likely get crushed. Nukes are out of the question because of the damage they cause to those who use them and the aliens would likely be immune to the radiation.

2. Bout the nukes dont think so... If you know that u have lost and you will be conquered by cruel and brutal aliens, why not use the Nukes??

The Combine Empire (known to other races as the Universal Union) is a UNIVERSAL empire. This means they control enitre UNIVERSES. Their military size could easliy number in the quantillions, but is most likely MUCH larger. 1 quantillion= 1,000,000,000,000,000.
It is unknown as to how strong their most powerful forces are, but what is known is that ALL of the forces on Earth are nothing more than a police force (Including the Synths). When the Combine conquer a world, they leave behind units that are best adapted for that world, and revese engineer local technology. This allows the Combine to have a highly effective force that is able to adapt to a local uprising, without leaving behind their best units.
Yes, Striders and Gunships are not from earth and yes they are destroyable. However, they are just other alien races that have been taken over and modified by the Combine. Since we are a species that fell pretty easily, it would make no sense to keep your elite forces on that world. Gunships and Synths are just expendable and adapt fairly well to Earth's environment. Just look at the Combine Soldiers, APC's, Stalkers etc. All modified humans/tech. It's what they do.
Applying real world examples to a fictional race also doesn't make any sense man :P
I could just go on and on about the Combine (Look at my name XD) but I'm getting tired, and it's youtube. think about it it just after the seven hour war that they put up the suppression field therefore by the time gordon freeman arrives in city 17 there are no children so you have to leave enough time in-between the black mesa incident and gordon's arrival for all the children in the world to grow up leaving about 20 or so years.

i liked some of the editing...the story was pretty good..but IMO i think you should go around the story of half life instead of a certain charicter...but thats just my opinion..but here are some facts..i think you need to improove on a fiew things..1. your graphics..= get a better computer...because the citizen models and shit are in the lower graphical category of the game...and 2. talk more about the combine and what happened before the 15 years later kinda thing..show portal storms and stuff

The 7 hour war is nonsence!
You would need an unprecedented amount of troops snd ships to conquere Earth in such an amount of time. Currently all of earths armed forced have roughly: Over 10 MILLION man under arms
Close to 100 000 Tanks
Close to 25 000 Aircraft
Over 1000 Ships and Submarines
Over 10 000 nukes
Not counted the MILLIONS of armed Police and citizens with guns at home...
Ya to conquere earth in 7 hours... you would need an army of BILLIONS!!

@Denorius01 Not necessarily. You need only break the larger powers to instil fear in the hearts of the weaker willed people. You really think an average person would attack a crab he just saw kill a much better armed soldier? And don't forget the combine's massive machinery. Many would rather run than fight. And those that stay would likely get crushed. Nukes are out of the question because of the damage they cause to those who use them and the aliens would likely be immune to the radiation.

1. look at Iraq+Afghanistan there they fight a MUCH larger/stronger force for 8 YEARS or more!!
2. Bout the nukes dont think so... If you know that u have lost and you will be conquered by cruel and brutal aliens, why not use the Nukes??
Even if used only in a few Battles they could proove decisive.
3. Cmn immune to radiation? THATS the biggest snag... In War of the World the marians were killed by bacteria. So its at least unlikely that they are imune to it....

Had the combine needed a Month or at LEAST a Week that would be realistic but 7 gours.. forget it!

@Denorius01 You never know what weapons the combine used during the war. Maybe earth is just not important enough to leave the strongest units there after it is conquered? Propably the combine have actually even stronger units but need them in fights that mean everything for them.
And just btw in WW2 strongly antiquated methods were used.

The Combine Empire (known to other races as the Universal Union) is a UNIVERSAL empire. This means they control enitre UNIVERSES. Their military size could easliy number in the quantillions, but is most likely MUCH larger. 1 quantillion= 1,000,000,000,000,000.

Yes, Striders and Gunships are not from earth and yes they are destroyable. However, they are just other alien races that have been taken over and modified by the Combine. Since we are a species that fell pretty easily, it would make no sense to keep your elite forces on that world. Gunships and Synths are just expendable and adapt fairly well to Earth's environment. Just look at the Combine Soldiers, APC's, Stalkers etc. All modified humans/tech. It's what they do.

And, Race X are some of the aliens in Half Life: Opposing Force. They were made by Gearbox instead of Valve, so they cannot be considered canon past the point that they exist.

I think they know what they're talking about :P An empire that spans universes could have an unimaginable population. My number was an example of how many there could be. Vortigaunts who believed that humans were just as an enemy as humans.. look at half life 1. Head crabs were probably all over the cities killing everything.. antlions too.. The earth was thrown off guard by the attack that they wouldn't have been ready for a counter attack or plan.. my opinion..
