What year were these made? cause i thought my Tallgeese 1 no grade 1/144 was old, and its from the Wing series i believe. and these dont look like they need glue. Please explane
@Zerothehedgehog1 these are plamodel kits made around 1980-1982. they come with one color plastic for the 1/144 line, 2 colors for 1/100, and about 2-3 colors for the 1/60. all kits need paint and cement.
the wing series came in 1995 (same year these 1980's kits were re-released)
@mkll8135 These kits date back to 1980. "First Grade" first appeared in 1999 - dirt-cheap, simple kits but with modern design and high-quality sculpt...
So, did you build these guys? I've done a couple old kits - a 1:100 Zaku and some old Macross stuff... I like the relative simplicity of the older kits. MGs and such are a bit too revisionist and over-engineered.
If you buy more old kits I'd recommend the MSV line. You can build some of them as the original suits - so you could get a Zaku Minelayer kit and build a better-looking Zaku than the 1:144 Zaku kit from 1980. The MSV Gelgoog is a great improvement over the older 1:144 kit as well.
@scopeeyevideo i agree with you about the msv gelgoog it's a huge improvement over the 1981 original version. (the head of the 1981 version seems a bit wrong, imo)
Wow, that's crazy! Talk about a Gundam model overload. xD I admit, there is a certain simple charm to these old models. I'm not sure I'd try getting a whole collection of them, though. I sort of take a more "quality over quantity" approach to Gundam models. But, I'm sure it's cool to own all those original retro models. Hope you do some cool paint jobs with them.
I usually choose quality over quantity as well. That's y I have so many MGs and so few 1/144 kits, but I made an exception for these lil guys... being $3 a pop didn't hurt either :)
HELL, yeah! Gouf is one of my favorite Zeon mobile suits. I'm really hoping Bandai does a MG Gouf ver 2.0! They've already done so many Zaku variations with the ver 2.0 skeleton, so I don't think a Gouf would be that hard to make.
i got a package today, the MG unicorn, its amazing i did it right away, im now thinking of getting chars gelgoog and/or the zeong, ill have to wait for your reviews of them xD
If you can live with a MS that doesn't have legs, the MG Zeong is a really nice (and BIG) model. A somewhat older kit, but very good for it's age. Tons of detail, good articulation (somewhat limited due to lack of legs), and a cool design. I'd highly recommend it.
