Don't let them induce you!! It's for the doctors convenience, not your baby or yours! It makes labor very hard and dangerous for the baby because the contractions don't give the baby time to rest in between. This is why it's common for babies to go into 'distress", which dr's love because why? C-section, it's fast and pays them better! And you will have to have an epidural because inductions make labor excruciating. Wait until your baby is ready to come out. Let him tell you, not the other way.
There is a study out of Harvard that puts pregnancy at 41.7 weeks, not 40 weeks. Not all the apples on one tree ripen on the same day, everybody's different. Due dates are estimates that often result in premies, that is why the US infant mortality rate is so high (highest of the developed world, even though we spend the most on healthcare). Maternal mortality rate has recently gone as a result of so much intervention. C-section is major abdominal surgery, which carries complications.
Nothing wrong with homebirthing if the pregnancy is low risk. Midwives can be liscensed Registered Nurses also and bring their own medical supplies. They know how to deal with complications and if something were to come up that they didn't know how to deal with they would transfer to a hospital.
I really liked your channel and this video. If you need any help getting this video exposed I use a site called tubeviews.(net) It has really helped like 20 of my main videos get to the top in position. Its nice.
People should stop ridiculing and underestimating science. Doctors are experiences and the hospitals have proper tools and equipment to cope with complications.
Birth is natural. Often "science" interferes with the natural process and actually creates complications. US has very poor infant mortality rate and this year was the 1st time in record keeping when maternal deaths were up. Probably due to almost 40% c-section rates.
Back in the time people were dirty and malnourished that doesn't happen anymore in the developed world and women can still die due to bleeding etc in c-sections. And today with medicine et cetera people die of heart attacks and cancer due to eating a lot of macdonalds and smoking marlboros so they cancel each other.
Although, yes, hygiene was a major problem in the olden days, there very much were also other complications. Blood pressure, bleeding, infant's blood supply cutoff, etc.
My point is that hospitals are a life saving backup that people MUST not dismiss as easily as people casually do.
Deliver at home if you want to, but realize that you might need to transfer - which is ok, so long as you don't stretch it too far. Midwives should know the limits, and I think they do.
@dkzmom drs are finding out that there are more c sections that result when pregnancy is forced to go on for too long. I would rather, therefore, be induced on my due date than go into labor 3 weeks late, and have to have a c section later on. It is the lesser of the two extremes.
my home births were the best after 2 c sections i had 3 big healthy babies right at home , its a shame women are degraded to give birth in s hospital its immoral , i had c sec as they said 10 pds was too big for me i had 12 pd 13 .1 and 11 .9 at home no problems at all
I'm very happy for your succesful, happy, healthy family, but I feel insulted by your comment about birthing in hospitals. I had my son in a hospital and I plan on having my daughter in a hospital. This is not because I have been scared into it or am unknowledgeable about the subject, it is just my personal preference. Yes birth is a natural thing that can easily be done at home but some women prefer the extra care and security of a hospital setting.
You are more than entitled to your opinion but I would just like to ask that you keep in mind other peoples feelings on the subject and that just because you don't agree with it, it doesn't make it wrong. Sure the hospitals have made this into a business and such, but I personally had a wonderful experience that I look forward to again.

"Doctors can help you decide" - docotrs will bully you into being induced.
If you are induced by artificial oxytocin there is no way it can continue naturally..

People should think twice about home birthing.

Birth is natural. People used to die left and right, the natural way. Bleeding to death, high blood pressure, and other natural complications.
It's true that c-section rates are too high, but don't dismiss medicine so quickly - it saves lives. I've seen a life saved once....
