I live in Texas and I am have a question on steam boilers. Base on your experience, what brand do you recommend base on durability and serviceability? Thanks.

  • @omegma87 You didn't mention if you had oil or gas. I like Burnham and Weil Mclain for steam. Smith is decent also. I am Not a fan of Utica.

  • Have you ever read the lost art of steam heat, by Dan Holohan? You may find it useful, as I see some preventable issues in your installation.

  • About how long did it take you to do the total install. From removal to heat on? I am about to have a similar system removed and upgraded. I had an older oil fired hot water boiler and changing over to propane. Just wondering the time it should take. Thanks. Love the videos!! Very informative.

  • I was under the impression that oil and gas combustibles weren't allowed to vent into the same chimney in MA. Or is it that they can't be Y connected to the same flue pipe?

  • They cannot Y into the same flue pipe, but can go into the same chimney, it is very common to see this arrangement in MA.
