I saw this band once, opening for Lenny K, and I thought they were terrible! Judging by this song though, I think I was wrong! I blame it on their sound man, or not being able to properly sound check... (so sorry).
It's such a shame Daniel got forced out of his own band, they're just his backup musicians without a leader nowadays. I'm surprised he even let him keep his CRR name without a fight.
This is a pretty good song though, pity there's not many more.
Well basically the first couple of CRR albums were Wylie solo albums, with the guitarist (I can't remember his name; the new lead singer) occasionally dropping into the community recording studios and being invited to guest. But by the time there was major label interest from Poptones, Daniel was told he actually needed some 'Cosmic Rough Riders' to perform the songs live, so he allowed some of the guitarists friends to actually become part of the 'band'.
This is a total fabrication. Dig up some interviews from that early period if you want to shed any light on it, there are plenty on the web, both before and after the poptones deal. That the story from the Wylie camp has constantly changed over the years should be ringing alarm bells with anyone remotely interested in 'the truth'. These guys were all good mates, long before any records or record deals. The drummer played in a very early incarnation of CRR, as far back as 1994.
But, they wanted an artistic say, kept putting down Daniel's ideas, bringing in their own songs they wanted recorded, apparently being quite bullying, etc. So, yeah, problems with the others. In the end he said they could call themselves Cosmic Rough Riders in exchange for letting him keep a couple of his songs they all played on. Got a pretty bad deal, in my opinion. Some of Daniel's solo stuff is pretty good. That's the real successor to CRR, not this wimpy pap.
Dont know about the politics but the Cosmics were a great band and great blokes. Why do the good bands bust up

The songs on this album were great though the mixing could have been a lot better- the songs deserved it!

Could you explain me why was Daniel forced to leave the group? Problems with the others?
