bunch of drunk ass red nicks and showing of with some stupid ass, old ass, ugly ass, slow ass bikes! you hear my 1098S and you have to go and change your pant!
Is that some sort of stupid pack mentality? Probably some great guys and certainly on some bitchin bikes but the behavior is felony stupid. How about some sort of do-over?
As an owner of a 80's honda v65 i have to say, Man that was music to my ear!! I was suprised to hear rev limiters on them but then I heard some comments about them being put on because i knew they did not come stock!Very Nice!
WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE. Unless you guys are mechanics and know what you're doing I'd say you're all retarded for pushing those old bikes to the rev limiter so much and for SO DAMN LONG. THAT IS PURE STUPIDITY. Hope you have fun when your bikes blow up. And don't try to tell me they wont because their good old trusty Honda's. Keep it up and see what happens.
Most of these guys are mechanics that have installed expensive after market ignitions that limit the spark within safe rev ranges. As far as I know in 1983, Honda did not supply rev limiters. A few of these bikes have a few thousand dollars into the motors and nobody in this group has ever had engine trouble as far as I know.
Its one thing if you guys know what you're doing. If this was just a bunch of old farts who like bikes and rev like that it'd be a different story. I'm studying to be a Triumph tech and I personally don't like revving like that but thats just personal preference. I feel it puts a little more wear on an engine than is really necessary.
Plus I really prefer to leave my engines together, once their properly tuned, for a good amount of time. But if you guys rip them appart all the time and know how to do it, THEN GO FOR IT.
@MrKweezy2 half the comments on here support what I'm saying. What I meant by that comment was that these are all very nice, and now quite rare bikes. Why damage them? I don't care what you say, mechanics or not, built up or not, revving any motor while not under load causes damage. It may not be much damage, but it's NEVER good for ANY motor to free rev to that extent, rev limiter or not. ESPECIALLY vintage bikes. Race motors can rev like that because they get rebuilt regularly, these won't be.

Its your choice and your bike, but doing that to a piece of art like a cbx and beautiful 1100s is criminal.

My CBX does not look like that anymore.

My CBX is still running and has a Schule exhaust system now but, she is getting a 0 mile engine after the 27,000 hard miles I have put on her.

Music to my ears! Nothing beats the sound of a badass CBX, 1100, 900, or 750! Made my day!

At 84 V65 Sabre has rev limiter and so did other models from back then. Look at the two CDI boxes. The one with red connector has limiter.
