why does the female commentator talk so spitefully about her? this routine might not deserve a gold medal, i don't even like this music and she has some mistakes in it, but she still put a lot of afford in it and it's still a good one. so i don't care if the commentator says it doesn't fit together BUT i DO care about the absolutely disrespectful and pejorative way she comments on her routine….especially the 'no' at the end: she seems to choke on her own hate
i swear, that last question Al asked Elfi was just an invitation for her to slam the amazing young athlete they had the privilege of watching. "she's young, she's bad, she's horrible" oh yea and now i'd better answer the question. with a "NO".
Great tumbling, but her form bothers me, like her double pike, her toes weren't pointed and her legs were separated... and in her twist, her legs separated and crossed over each other. But I really shouldn't say anything because I can't do that.
@LeilaLilzMathy I think it's fair to critique a gymnast, even though you (and 90% of the other commenter's) can't do it, but at the same time I think she's wonderful to have those skills and be so great, despite coming from a non-powerhouse gymnastics country. I'd probably critique her if she was from the USA/China/Romania/Russia, but she's not so I think she's wonderful! Haha.
It's not so much that the choreography didn't match as it is she wasn't selling it. I think she has great potential and she's one of my favorites because she does something more unique on floor.
Do you know, I once thought to myself, ' What if the TV people in America read our comments here about Elfi/Tim/Al? What if I am partly responsible for them being sacked and disgraced and unemployed? '.
I then realised that it was just a momentary daydream and that ofcourse, Elfi is still spewing her hideous biased crap and the trio as a whole need to take a look at the way our commentators conduct themselves on the BBC.
@tomsk14 There not the BBC they are NBC and they don't get to think for themselves..hello have you seen American television...its the network heads that decide what is talked about and what is said..after all its all about ratings. Im a TV person. I see this happen everyday...you can place blame on producers believe me if you were a producer you would have way more control of what is said.
@LCAmarkymark So are the producers the reason why NBC commentators are so rude? BBC and NBC are so different in how they support their countries gymnastics. I'm having a hard time believing that the producers are the reason that the only way NBC can support american gymnasts is by trashing gymnasts from other countries. I would feel really uneasy going out to perform, knowing NBC would be slating my every move.
@xPlumpxPersonx well the gymnast can't hear them...its not like gymnast have IFB's in their ears for the entire event...they are unaffected unless they come here and read the comments and watch themselves constantly but since they have to practice like 7 hours a day I don't think they really care. They just want something that people are going to comment on. Check out last weeks episode of 30 Rock...its funny and to some degree they depict how TV really works
ok... the choreography wasn't that bad. it definetly needed a bit more spark and personality, but it wasn't deserving of the "no. it didn't" from elfie maybe a "needs a bit more personal style" would have been valid.
@MdrnDncr87 I was thinking the same thing! I remember Tasha Schwikert had the same music, and Elizabeth danced a heck of a lot better than Tasha. I liked it actually!
@MdrnDncr87 Yeah but its not just about matching the music! Its gotta look good! Her choregraphy is hideous and ackward! Matching the music is not the problem these days. Its the artistic part of it....and is where she struggles here!

Her current floor routine is so much better, I don't think this one suits her as much.

And now she's European vice champion in the AA :) What a talented young lady. Such a shame the trio doesn't appreciate her work.

I personally loved the routine if she added emotion to it , it would be one of the best because she has more unique music than the basic classical
peaceluvcheer97 1 year ago
Sure she didn't show that much personality in the choreography but it matched the beats of the music almost perfectly.

@imaiyarules Tasha Shwickert used this music in 2004
