@Svperstarr Anytime you think this way,before saying it out loud, understand it's a bit like if someone would replace the word "she" by "your mother" and "like a man" by "like a bitch". It's the way it feels, more or less. Then say it if you want, but be aware of what you're doing.

@Svperstarr : She's 73 years old (born in 1938). Her voice and appearance are age-appropriate. Actually, I think she looks much younger than her years. My half-sister is the same age as Lynn, is not transgender, and sounds similar.

I was looking up the facility of CAMH for info and Dr zucker is currently my doctor so Im surprised that i found this video talking about him.. and I agree that being transgendered isnt a mental disorder, idk if i should change doctors now. i feel i should because it was very uncomfortable when i first went for an appointment

Scans show that the brains of a transexual female (male bodied female) are in fact smaller than those of a cisgender male, just like a ciswoman.

So, if it is not a mental illness, then it is a physical (for lack of a better word) deformity.

Actually, I retract my former concept that it is a mental illness.

Zucker's view is absolutely medieval. We're not in the Middle Ages, so why do some people still think like we are? Saying that transgender people are "mentally ill" is no different than saying people with different colored skin are "not people". It's bigotry, and all bigotry is bad.

I feel a great deal of empathy for Lynn having lost my own Corporate Career due to the extreme ignorance of my line management.For Dr.Zucker to say that we are mentally ill is truly pandering to the worst media elements that have spent years running us down.I do hope Lynn succeeds (and with the force of the Transsexual Community behind her she will) in maintaining the positive role model that she has proved to be for many years.I feel it is the likes of Dr.Zucker who needs to be studied.

As is so often the case on TV they only tell part of the story. It makes it sound like Zucker threatened lawsuit over the DSM working group issue (though I am sure that is part of the picture). What Zucker threatened over was the far more specious, stupid reason that she linked to a external website. That website contained the actual allegations Zucker felt were slanderous. Threatening her made no sense whatsoever.
