  • Enjoyed your video, you did a great job. Ready to make the hike to Abrams Falls Spring 2012

  • @233KP Lucky you...I miss that place so bad.

  • My pleasure!

  • My father and I were just up there in Sept...We saw quite a few small black bear in the Cove and I think I almost made it to Abrams Falls but because I was alone and it was getting dark I lost my nerve...gave it a good 1hr plus hike at high speeds but didnt want to be alone in the dark. As for Elk, my father saw one close to Smokemont where we were camped out and there were tons up in the north-east of the park! Thanks for sharing your video!!!

  • As you can see I love waterfalls. I have been here to.

  • too many rednecks visiting smokey mountains

  • Great Video.

    Check Out Mine.

The Edinburgh Community Home Buying Series.

  • One of my ancestors owned a cabin here.

  • Would love to see more hikes like this in the Smokies! Thanks

  • Haha I didn't have to go here, there was a bear running outside of our cabin!

  • i was there last week!

  • i live in Nashville and travel to the smokies at least twice a year, we always start the new year in Gatlinburg! Love the video!

  • I went to the falls in the winter, they were all frozen over they looked very pretty.

  • I really like Cades Cove and all of the Smokies. If you have never been, try to go when there are not so many tourists. Also don't rush to see everything. Go slow, soak it in. Take a magnifying glass. Take pictures, but not just so you can look at it later but to slow down and notice the beauty that all around you. Listen to the water, just listen. God is good.

  • @ThirtyPiecesOfSilver I am going to the Smokies in MArch for one reason and one reason only....TO SEE GODS ART WORK! Some times we forget that God is an artist. He "painted" all of this! SO AWSOME!!!!

  • Thank you Thank You for this wonderful beautiful video and I love being able to hear the water falls with the music as background instead of the other way around like most folks do..

  • omg i want to be here!

  • Thanks for the video! Loved it! Hubby and I are thinking of going there soon! BTW..there IS ELK there..they were reintroduced in February 2001, according to CadescoveDOTcom.

  • make that, DOTnet!

  • my husband and i have been to see the elk, actually in the spring after they were introduced and almost every year since. you will see more in the fall as it is rutting season. we usually take a picnic and sit and watch them most of the day

  • finally somebody makes a Gatlinburg video without dueling banjos thank you

    i love classical music

  • Yes...I am glad about that too!!!

  • i live here!!! lol

  • I have sat on top of those falls...thanks for taking me back there.

  • my family has jumped off these falls for 5 years running. We love it there.

  • Nice video except for one thing - those are definitely NOT elk at 8:15, only deer. There are no elk in Cades Cove, they are only on the other side of the park at Cataloochee. Plus they are MUCH, MUCH bigger !!!

  • Good to know. I really wasn't sure

  • The Smoky Mts. are awesome!!! There is nothing in the world like them.

  • Cades Cove is a great place to take a date. Every girlfriend I ever had I took to Cades Cove. I have never met a female who didn't love the mountains.

  • Been there many times. I fished Abrams Creek some also. Lots of trout there.

  • I missed the fall! I can't believe you didn't get any footage of the bears. Cades Cove was full of them when we went.

  • I kept looking for the bears! No such luck. The way you put...I should have seen one. Maybe next time.

  • Maybe they were in hibernation when you were there.

  • @hikingtrailmaster I have seen several bears in the Great Smoky Mountains, but I typically don't film.

I saw a few cubs last time I was at Cades Cove (summer 2010)

I did some hiking at Mt Mitchell this summer and a giant male black bear was eating a campers backpack, and I started recording. I got too close, or in-between this bear and the next backpack, and it gave me a warning stomp. Check out the video on my channel if ya like.

Nice video, it makes me want to get back to the mountains!

  • I saw one fall out of a tree there once

  • Very nice video, it brought back great memories. Thanks.

  • Nice Video! Did you get to visit Midnight Hole at Big Creek in the Smokies? It's about a 1.5 mile hike in and is a 15 foot deep crystal blue swimming and trout hole. Check my page I have videos of Midnight Hole in Big Creek and Greenbrier.

  • I like to go to Cades Cove in the cold months not so many damn people there then. Thank You from the DEER

  • Good video. Nice place.

  • me too!

  • I love Cades Cove and have been there many times.I also have done the same hike and spent time sitting up on top of the falls just relaxing.I enjoyed your video, it makes me want to be there again.

  • Finally getting to go to "Cades Cove" and "The Great Smoky Mountains" was a childhood dream come true. It fulfilled all of my expectations.

  • I love the Smoky Mts!! ;)
