Breakdancing originated from hip hop culture, hip hop was an extension to funk in the first place; thus some "pure funk" meets that criteria. But today's hip hop? c'mon; no hip hop song made after the millennium even comes close.

Now saying YES to YouTube (especially when saying NO to radio) is the most important opinion to have.

You might think breakdancing basterizes society, but I kinda think that breakdancing is a way to stay off drugs, and also a way to stay away from sluts (in which newer hip hop focuses more on than the sound it used to have). And with subjectivity of music genres regarding the sound it has; it is also easier to say "hip hop is dead" likewise other genres which are popular and subjective.

I think you mistook some of the things i said.I am a b-boy myself and also think it's a great way to keep young people from falling in with the wrong crowds.Getting into hip hop culture,in general,does that. there are so many options to direct your attention(dj-ing, rapping, breaking and graffiti).The thing about saying"hip hop is dead"is that most people refer to the(popculture)bastardization of the term which only refers to the music. Hip hop is very much alive.

try watching some movies/documentaries that have been made about hip hop and also the different aspects of the culture. ("Five sides of a coin","The Freshest Kids","Style Wars","WildStyle","Planet B-Boy")

Also if you can you should go to some events to really an idea what its about. It's more than music. As i've been saying, it's a culture!
