Only recently saw this movie for the first time.Really like it,but don't quite understand the ending.Also which version is the best?

The only way to understand the ending is to have some general knowledge of folklore in that region. That or the constant circles in a few scenes. Overall, interesting movie (got the final cut version) but not easy to classify in any one genre as number of African filmmakers tend put their movies may fit into one or two genres.

@times9 Although Hardware is more easy to enjoy for general viewers, I personally believe Dust Devil to me more mature, disturbing and uncompromising in its own blend of fiction. Dust Devil is more appreciated by me since it is in effect Richard Stanley's 2nd and, right now, last feature (not counting his documentaries).
