A true ballerina. It was only fitting that she taught classes in the place of her predecessor, Nina Stroganova, at City Center in New York. They both died too young.

I met her a few years ago in la Scala during a gala performance, she danced "diyng swan" so poetic an pure.....

She was unique in every way. Her death came too early. May she rest in peace.

When I heard the news about her passing today I was deeply saddened. She was the most amazing dancer, a great teacher and a wonderful human being. The world lost an extraordinary artist today.

This marvellous ballerina died today, much to young at 59. I have seen her live for 10 years in almost every performance she gave in Berlin and there is no other dancer like her. Her grace and joy, her musicality and her acting made classical ballet looking the most natural thing in the world. I never saw another female dancer jump with such ease and that high. To find this rare and awesome piece of dance history here on Youtube made me happy and cry at the same time. Thanks!

That's what I call refined technique! When she jumps in the sissonnes, she got such an elevation, "ballon", she has the strength of a man, and such delicacy in the arms...! Danish version is really so complicated for the legs!!! Typical high training.

Put more of Schaufuss too, please. :-)
