Our Lady of Peace is such a beautiful Cathedral and the oldest in continuous use in the United States (1843). Saint Damien of Molokai was ordained to the priesthood in this church in the 1860s. I live in Mililani, but make it a point to attend mass here several times a year. The Midnight Mass Christmas Carols are wonderfully executed and the choir is phenomenal. I would encourage anybody visiting Honolulu to stop by and visit. If anything else, just to admire the art and and architecture.
Wrong tune. Lacks the dignity of Noel and sounds like something thats a bit happy clappy. Cannot believe that Americans acutally like singing such a beautiful carol to such an awful tune. Would find it difficult to take the Christmas message seriously if I had to sing a carol about the Christmas hope to this tune.
@x8lover Speak for yourself. I am British and completely disagree with you. This is my favourite carol (in this tune) and I cannot understand why many (not all!) of my compatriots like singing such a beautiful carol to that awful other tune.
Perhaps you could post a video response to my video "My favorite Christmas Carol. What's yours?" here in Youtube. We're collecting people's favorite carols from all over the world to celebrate this Christmas time with everyone!
