These people are calling Magneto and Storm cheap? I can see Sentinel, cause he has a lot of chip tactics, which good players dont even abuse. Theyve most likely played Sents that chip all day, and it frustrated the competitive spirit, understandbly. But Magneto & Storm are combo-based, so its impossible for them to be cheap. They may not like the Mag infinite, thats why they call him cheap.

@9revolta Storm has good runaway and chip, and is a better character than Cable. Really Sentinel and Storm are #1/2 in what ever order you wish to put them in. Cable is by no means cheap, he just has the best (arguably) super in the game and decent zoning. There is a reason you don't see Cable in every finals match.

because the game is imbalanced. and also some characters have established strategies and combos that are tournament worthy.

only the best players use mid tier characters and hold it down, and those are usually the funnest matches to watch :)

Why do they keep picking the same guys over and over? it started getting boring during the middle of the second match. Don't get me wrong, those were some cool combos, but it get boring if thats all you do. Good matches anyways.

Hopefully I won't offend too much, But I have to ask. I liked all the Capcom games up until MvC2 but I don't get this game. I'm not certain what the exact appeal is to players that do "get it" so I want to ask. Is it the extreme amount of time you can put the other guy in block/chip damage? Is it the super after super after super? Is it the extreme running away in the air (Storm, etc.)? To me, it seems like there is no actual "fighting" behind done... the characters seem very removed from play.

It's the ability to do more than simple 9 hit combos... it takes more skill.

I think it's the long combos that attract players to this game. They love to memorize their infinite combos and learn the routine. Once they know the routine they automatically become "better" players. The main appeal this game has over tekken(to me anyway) is that it's cheaper. 1 token for mvc2 2 tokens for tekken5. let the flames begin ;)

I honestly think u know nothing about fighting games in general, omfglern2play. Its not the things that u sarcastically mention, but a combination of those plus a jillion more that I really dont care 2 educate you about. what do you play, let me guess, halo? pacman? This game is the chess of fighting games and I dont even play it very well, but Im usually at majors and mvc2 is ALWAYS well-attended. Personally I think the need 4 EXTREMELY fast reflexs draws hardcore gamers to mvc2 specifically.

Well, you are free to think what you like of course. If it wasn't clear in my first post, I played street fighter 2 all the way from vanilla to super turbo, then the alphas, then the X-Men:COTA, Marvel Super Heroes, XMen vs SF, Marvel Vs Capcom, and love those games. I'm also a big fan of doom2, quake (in it's many iterations), Unreal Tourney series, Guilty Gear series, warcraft 2, starcraft:broodwar, and team fortress 2. So yeah, I like competitive games.

They are both pretty high level players, the only thing I would say about their playing style is they go for too many resets in obvious situations. If you understand sents unblockable you can see the guy playing santhrax is pretty damn good.
