Even on a "simple" fiddle tune... TRISCHKA's a monster on the banjer! Oh, and Richard Greene plays with tons of "feel". Nuthin' better than fiddle n' banjo!
no, the vid was shot by the host of the house concert where this took place. Please email me a link to your website when it's up and running, and also use this email for further communications: fiddlethis@yahoo.com
May I use this video as an example on my soon to be launched website of bluegrass music on the fiddle? It is so well done and a lot of people do not know about Bluegrass music. Thank you .Cheryl williams, San antonio, Tx.
I worked for him back in the 70's at sound city recording studios in LA....the version of Orange Blossom Special by Seatrain is the best I have ever heard....
Richards work with Seatrain on OBS is a MUSICAL MASTERPIECE that crosses many genres. I`ve gone through my old 33`s down my basement, just to find that album to play that song. It gives me chills each and every time. Orange Blossom Special is a beautiful classic that has been played by countless musician s, mastered by few, enshrined by one . You owe it to yourself to beg ,borrow or steal OBS by Seatrain, featuring this very talented man ,arguably , at his best.
i love this song... to tell u the truth... SBYO ( south bay youth orchestra ) played this song with richard greene yesterday... ( and i was playing with em X D)
These are very old friens and colleagues of mine from my days as a producer/engineer at Elektra Records and as a freelance manager/engineer/producer for David Grisman, Jerry Garcia, Turtle Island String Quartet, many more--Richard and I met in Cambridge, Mass when Richard was in the Kweskin Jug Band--I managed Earth Opera then--I owe them a debt I can never repay!!

Happy to se Richard back for wherever he was. In my humble opinion, Richard is a violin icon.

Seatrain was great and he played great on Gene Clark's No Other album, sometimes even using a wah, wah pedal, if I'm not mistaken. Thanks for posting!
