its mull of kintyre because some of the lads used to go to the trent navigation pub and listen to it there in the 70's/80's. they brought it to the city ground, and eventually it got bigger - hence they eventually made their own version of the song. YOU REDS!

Does anyone else think it would be better if the music was cut just before the second verse kicked it. so just the fans are signing. As at the moment, becuase the PA System is louder in other parts of the ground parts of the ground are ahead/behind of others. If the music was cut the whole ground would know what pace to sing it at !!

To be honest, I think that would make it even worse; at least the music keeps the majority of fans together. We need a band to make a proper recording with the 'City Ground' lyrics at a slightly faster tempo. It shouldn't be as fast as some fans sing it though... you won't find Liverpool fans singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone' at a ridiculously fast speed... it would just sound moronic.
