  • that was one hell good live performance! they fucking nailed that shit!

  • @sony040 there so good live i seen them so many times and every single time every single song sounds amazing there wicked under rated

  • R.I.P. Lynn. You will be missed, but never forgotten.

  • I literally dont think I have heard a more powerful applause at the end of a musical performance on Letterman. There arent even words that can be summoned out of the spirit to describe how good this song really is

  • im sorry somthingclever2007........

  • If you don't feel anything from this song, you don't have a soul.

  • @infernoxred I just said that on a video last week and never seen it on youtube until then....Jesus Christ, can anyone be original, damn.

  • The 6th unofficial member of Sevendust....Paul Schaffer. Nice work for him to just sit in like that.

  • thanks i found this song, to all my friends passed without saying goodbye...angels son

  • The night i lost my daughter i listened to this song and cried my heart out!! RIP serenity

  • 5 people are not sons of angels

  • Damn, that was amazing!

  • Man, the back up vocals are REALLY good. It's like having two lead singers.

  • sevendust is the only music that makes my baby stop crying!! thank you sevendust!!

  • I gotta say, Paul Simon should be the 6th member of sevendust!

  • Who's the guy on the right? He kinda looks like the guy from Nickleback

  • Where is the LOVE button?? This band is totally amazing and actually sounds equally awesome live! Unlike alot of crap artists nowadays! F Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga and all that fake tween bull!!!

  • That was awesome :) And you gotta love Paul. Respect to you 7D. Saw them in Illinois with Disturbed, and they kicked ass!

  • @somethingclever2007 stay strong bro

  • Drummer kind of looks like Maynard from Tool.

  • My Grandmother passed away yesterday and for the last twenty four hours, I havent felt anything but the weight of the world baring down on me. Sometimes, in order to keep from crying, you have to smile- and with music like this its a whole lot easier. I miss you Grandma!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ill like you for always and Ill love you forever!

  • They

  • RIP Lynn. Snot forever!

  • Omg....This is amazing. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THESE GUYS TOMORROW! MUSIC AS A WEAPON V BITCHES! :DDD

  • For whoever cares, I worked at a rehearsal studio in Fairfield, NJ where they came to practice for a week before the show. I was watching them rehearse and they never missed a note or beat. The best part about it was that I can't recall them practicing this song, they did all their electric songs. I remember wondering what all that practice was for, but then again I didn't work 24 hour shifts. Either way, kick ass musicians, truly talented!

  • @dimeified LIKE!!!! these guys are definitely a kick ass musically gifted group!!

  • @BuellDude69 Hell yea man, it was an experience i can always take with me. I remember looking at the schedule sheet for the week, and seeing SEVENDUST written across it, and then erased. My manager had written it to block out the "sound stage" room, but then realized other clients would see it on the schedule at the desk, so then he erased it. It still showed up in erased pencil.

  • I am posting this in honor of my best friend loss...~R.I.P.~ Ryder Eriq Woods~...I fucking HATE this fucking world!!..just sayin' ere...so no fuckin'buddy hearz me...

  • killer band ..killer performance!!

  • Ahhh come on people, they are so hard working and talented, they don't deserve the 5 dislikes, the performance was amazing, I don't understand how could anyone not like it. Peace.

  • I imagine it being impossible to watch this video and not get goosebumps from it. Easily the best live performance on Letterman

  • that has to be the best live band set on a late night show I've ever heard. They sounded absolutely beautiful and I love how Paul joined in on the keyboards.

Im betting many in the audience and watching at home that night who had never heard of Sevendust were buying a new cd the next day. I know if that was the first I had heard from them I would have become an instant fan.

  • 5 people accidentally hit dislike, aw.

  • haha dude the talk show host is such a dork. After they finish completely owning his set he walks over looking like a dick with ears. LMFAO

  • This song is dedicated to Lynn Strait.

    RIP!

  • Well there are strings in this song, and i think Paul adding that with the keyboard strings added to it live... Awesome live version..

  • ONE LAST SONG, GIVEN TO AN ANGEL'S SON!! AS SOON AS YOU WERE GONE, AS SOON AS YOU WERE GONNNNE!!

  • hm, looking backwards...

video was made as a tribute to Lynn, i respect that.

this performance with "beauty" organ sound and colour lights and all that crap, looks like an bullseye in the media....

this song should be played only for Lynn RIP

sorry if u disagree but i'm really drunk now

  • @fyrkos i disagree. Performing this song live gets people to know about lynn so its a good thing.....

  • one of the most under rated bands!

  • the keyboard actually added a lot to this song.

  • 5 person dislike this video and Lynn :S fan justin bibier shit fans

  • Ronaldinho ? jajajaj

  • Ok, I love Sevendust, but I believe the main reason for that love is their deep meanings in their songs and not only is the lead vocals phenomenal but it is backed so perfectly with the music and backup vocals! Anyone would clearly see there is no need for them to add clearer notes in the making of their albums. Sevendust is the true meaning of rock and/or metal! Great Post!!!!

  • thank you lajon for writeing his song is all i can say

  • Lajon has such a powerful voice!!!

  • ''Thank you Mr Letterman'' Lajon says at the end, he seems like such a nice guy

  • @IrishBull81

HAHAHA, if you ever watched their DVD, during the documentary about their first album and the concert, he uses the phrase "Cool cats." You can't be a jagoff and use "Cool cats." :) LaJon is awesome. He sings in a hard rock band, yet almost every video he looks like a fashion model. I always loved how he broke the mold for a "Hard rock" singer. Definitely a vocalist more than a singer.

  • just one word WAW!!!!

  • if michael jackson would have been into rock music like Lajon rather than pop then maybe.. just maybe he'd still be alive today..

  • I can't believe they were on Letterman, even back in 2002.......

  • Incredible Performance

  • Ive been a fan of 7D since the "Seasons" record. I finally after 8 years of being my number 1 favorite rock band, I got to see them live in Chicago on the Carnival of Madness tour. They played this song and it was amazing live. I remember before they played it, LJ announced that Clint is expecting a son.

  • 7D OWNS

  • excellent performance...would love to see these guys live

  • I love how Paul gets involved with the musical guests..he and Sevendust kick ass.

  • Holy Crap!....the rest of the band can sing really well.

  • Such a unique sound. And Lajon's voice is so powerful.

  • Clint's voice if incredible.

  • I HAVE A NEW LIFE NOW

  • I never knew they played on the Letterman show. It reminded me of the surprise I felt when I saw Slipknot on the Leno show.

  • i always sing their songs in my room i love the fact that he has such a strong emotional voice and of course he is one of the few african americans and he is not all strung out...Lajon is awesome

  • hahaha, I'm pretty sure the guy at the end was going for a handshake, o well, great show

  • Comment removed

  • FUCKING AMAZING SOUNDS JUST LIKE THE VIDEO LIVE. 2 thumbs way fucking up

  • those guys both have great voices... and eerily similar as well.

  • Incredible good live, maybe the best I've heard!

  • seen them april 24th 2010 at 98rockfest tampa florida with alice in chains and they were so bad ass the vip acoustic show kicked ass sevendust one of the best bands that are very very underrated

  • i dont care what anyone else says, these guys are amazing in concert and people always say they suck in concerts

  • Dont get me wrong i love Seven Dust and this song but when this song came out Im pretty sure they said they would never perform it live cause it was a tribute to their friend from what snot? that died...i could be wrong but i remember them saying that.

  • Goddamn, what a great live performance

  • definitely one of the most beautiful songs ever!!!! i love these guys so much! they can bring it heavy or touch every emotion u have ever felt all in the same show!

  • agian I say, one of the best songs that will ever be in rock history, from one of the most exceptional bands around

  • I think I've commented before, but rewatching this again was just fantastic. And I noticed that Lajon says, "Thank you, Mr. Letterman." :) Just struck me as being so polite, instead of, "Thanks Dave!" or "Yeah man."

  • not one of my favourite Sevendust songs but great show

  • Ridiculously good live. Bravo.

  • its so nice to hear bands sound just as good live as they do on cd

  • @carlton31174 - there aren't many bands like that!

  • F&*^%$g Awsome! nice live performace

  • One of the best rock bands to date, and they hail from Atlanta

  • I love that they got Paul Shaffer to play the keyboards.. Really adds to the live performance.. Thanks for uploading, I love this song!

  • @sadistacation I know I seen that too that was awesome

  • Beautiful song!!!! And where were these guys back then???????? This group has talent.

  • MISS YOU LYNN!

  • i saw sevendust play live in peoria, one of the greatest things ive ever seen

  • This performance is so tight.....awesome.

  • That dumb fuck Paul Schafer ruined this song! Whay doesn't he just let the band play their song?!

  • trust me , im sure it was disgused as to wether they wanted him to do anything ,,,, he wouldnt just start playing something ...think before u make stupid comments

  • Comment removed

  • @arcticbushpilot123 agree

    Paul Schafer SUCKS

  • this song is touching, it brings tears to my eyes when i hear it, its beautiful, the musicain ship is amazing!

  • they're just as brilliant live, if not more so.

  • esta kancion es de lo mejor lo mas linda ufas m hac sentir y rekordar mushas kosas

    asombrosa

    aliliz♥

  • how old is that?

  • The show was taped on March 28, 2002....!

  • @havoc288 they wrote this song for their friend Lynn Strait, who died in a car crash on Christmas day in 98'

  • This song almost always makes me tear up...R.I.P. Lynn, always in our thoughts.

  • deftones, sevendust, tool, and primus is all i need

  • @KingAttle you are no fool!

  • ...I have loved this song since it came out and remember tearing up watching the video with Lynn. This is the first time I heard this version, and again...I'm wiping my eyes as we speak.

  • this is some of the best live singing I've ever heard. Lajon sounds perfect and the backup singing is amazing as well (is it Clint?).

  • it is Clint

  • WOW what a great band

  • I will be strong. I'll stand by you!

  • great song for thinking about late loved ones, wicked!

  • incredible voices

  • this is an amazing performance. I have a new respect for the band.

  • @Yupperoony agreed!!!

  • This song was made for the vocalist of SNOT, Lynn Strait...

I also sing this song to my bandmate who died because kidney disease( I forgot the name)

    RIP Carlo/Caloy...

  • and his puppy dobbs:(

  • I saw Sevendust twice last year at the Machine Shop in FLINT MICHIGAN. I have a drumstick that says "sevendust" on it that Morgan Rose threw into the crowd that i caught. They played with Nonpoint one of the times i saw them. Both times were fucking AMAZING.

  • they wrote this for Lynn,RIP LYnn

  • THE BEST SONG

  • I love Sevendust...props to Paul on the keys..Amazing

  • LJ is @ BEAST!!!!!

  • not only one of the best bands in the world, but also among the best live bands, and best individual musicians and songwriters. all of them together have created an intoxicating and super-powered force of rock that nobody could possibly stand up to

  • One of the best voices in rock today, without a doubt.

  • i totally agree with u this is amazing

  • @Kernnunos maynard tool

  • Eine Band die wirklich Musik macht und auch ohne Playback was drauf hat.

A band that create good music and they can sing without playback.

    Great!!!

  • That riff is sooo beautiful ...

  • I should know what type of style Sevendust is, I've only seen them almost a dozen times in downtown Chicago. They tour nonstop. I own every single record they've ever owned. They're classified as American Metal and Their style is this and this only: Hard rock, Nu metal, Heavy metal, and Alternative metal

  • paul did amazing job....

  • Dad and Bro... thinking of you... amazing song

  • Amazing 'live" performance of the song. Great keyboard/string arrangement, too.

Sevendust stands apart from many other bands in so many levels.

  • dude this song makes me cry

  • RIP Lynn Strait

  • Lil man, Lajon!

  • lajon is an awesome vocalists!

only brandon boyd could possibly beat him!

  • No brother... Lajon is much melodic singer and more versatile.

First: Listen Born to die and then Failure. Next you will understand me.

Actually , only some person that sing Alternative Metal can feel proud to be better singer than Lj.

Corey Clover from Living Colour could possibly beat him...

  • What's up with the label "Alternative metal"? Where did that come from? Why can't you just say that Sevendust is a good hard rock band that came out in the 90s? There's nothing alternative about them. They're heavy!

  • dude, they both have completely different kinds of voices. lajon has a more "aggressive" voice, whereas brandon has soft, melodic vocals. comparing them is like comparing a strawberry and an orange. totally different, but both equally good. in my humble opinion.

  • amen with both of you man..

but in my opinion they actually have a same type timbre. that make them such a quality melodic singers. although lajon is more powerful, but brandon is more unique.

  • you are fucking retarded.

  • wow they sound amazing live...

  • I honestly think that this is the best version I've heard of this song. It's so melodic.

  • god this song is so epic. great work guys

  • Oh my gosh, Lajon looks so small next to Letterman!!! awesome song, great voices and performance.

  • great video of this song, you can tell they always feel this song.

  • RIP Brother J and Dad... amazing song... even better band...

  • thats terrence trent d`arby singing, 80`s uk sensation

  • you made a funny. but not that funny

  • Purely.....Awesome!!! R.I.P. Lynn...your boys did u proud with this one!

  • RIP L.Strait. the singer from Sevendust looks like he could make it in the Jackson 5

  • RIP ...

  • rip James Lynn Strait

  • I thought it was awesome that Letterman's right hand, can't remember his name.... But i thought it was cool he played with them.. Looked like he really enjoyed it.

  • paul shaffer ?..

  • wow these guys are amazing live. i cant wait till they come to cleveland!!!!!!

  • I saw sevendust Wednesday with disturbed and Skindred -- they rocked the house here in Augusta - This song always gets me choked up -- one of my favs - they're always welcome in Augusta

  • I haven't seen Sevendust in a while. Last time I seen them was probably 2002. However in the 11 times I seen them before 2002 they never put on a bad show. Sad I had to miss them one time cause Lajon was sick on a tour they did with Limp Bizkit and Clutch. Show sucked without them.

  • I just noticed that Morgan (drummer) has a stocking on his face. lol. Awesome.

  • to keep his dreads out of his eyesight?

  • Knowing Morgan, he probably did it just to be different or funny. lol. He's had way longer dreads and didn't use a stocking. His WHOLE face is covered. lol.

  • Yeah, its' probably just Morgan being Morgan.

  • R.I.P Lynn & Dobbs

  • BEST!!!

  • this is a prime example of a band that doesn't get the credit they deserve... they are fucking awesome, both on the album, and live... and thats hard to find in a band these days... another really cool thing about them is that they are one of those bands that dont really care about fame... they are more about the music and getting their message out there... and they treat their fans like gold, and thats also hard to find these days... Sevendust = epic/legendary

  • Are sevendust christians? on their website it says that the singer interprets the "seven" part of the name as the 7 disciples. But then it also says sevendust is a poison

  • yes they are Christians but their faith is not a driving force behind the band. Sevindust is actually a pesticide but LJ interprets it as 7 for all the 7's in the bible, and dust, for we are made from dust.

  • yeh thats what i meant. good stuff these guys a ledgends. I hate when people think christians can't be into metal.

  • clint......scott stapp??? oh shit....

  • 'we still love you!!!!!!' amazing!!!!

  • i like their song praise its some what slow but its a kick ass song

  • Hell yeah the best band out there period. 7D for life!!!

  • this is brilliant the singing is just like on the cd maybe even better he truly has an amazing voice

  • Holy shit lol, sounds like the CD ..amazing

  • 2 Words: Kick Ass.

  • I have no words, Clint, you are my idol!!!please get yor own band, and be the lead singer!!

  • what are some good slower songs by sevendust?? like this

  • Shadows in Red. It's off the "Next" album.

  • Skeleton Song

  • that was pretty damn amazing

  • i was fortunate enought to see these guys live a few years back...sadly they did not play this song as it is one of my all time favs. thanks for posting...damn good music!
