I literally dont think I have heard a more powerful applause at the end of a musical performance on Letterman. There arent even words that can be summoned out of the spirit to describe how good this song really is
Where is the LOVE button?? This band is totally amazing and actually sounds equally awesome live! Unlike alot of crap artists nowadays! F Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga and all that fake tween bull!!!
My Grandmother passed away yesterday and for the last twenty four hours, I havent felt anything but the weight of the world baring down on me. Sometimes, in order to keep from crying, you have to smile- and with music like this its a whole lot easier. I miss you Grandma!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ill like you for always and Ill love you forever!
For whoever cares, I worked at a rehearsal studio in Fairfield, NJ where they came to practice for a week before the show. I was watching them rehearse and they never missed a note or beat. The best part about it was that I can't recall them practicing this song, they did all their electric songs. I remember wondering what all that practice was for, but then again I didn't work 24 hour shifts. Either way, kick ass musicians, truly talented!

@BuellDude69 Hell yea man, it was an experience i can always take with me. I remember looking at the schedule sheet for the week, and seeing SEVENDUST written across it, and then erased. My manager had written it to block out the "sound stage" room, but then realized other clients would see it on the schedule at the desk, so then he erased it. It still showed up in erased pencil.
I am posting this in honor of my best friend loss...~R.I.P.~ Ryder Eriq Woods~...I fucking HATE this fucking world!!..just sayin' ere...so no fuckin'buddy hearz me...
Ahhh come on people, they are so hard working and talented, they don't deserve the 5 dislikes, the performance was amazing, I don't understand how could anyone not like it. Peace.
that has to be the best live band set on a late night show I've ever heard. They sounded absolutely beautiful and I love how Paul joined in on the keyboards.
Im betting many in the audience and watching at home that night who had never heard of Sevendust were buying a new cd the next day. I know if that was the first I had heard from them I would have become an instant fan.
Ok, I love Sevendust, but I believe the main reason for that love is their deep meanings in their songs and not only is the lead vocals phenomenal but it is backed so perfectly with the music and backup vocals! Anyone would clearly see there is no need for them to add clearer notes in the making of their albums. Sevendust is the true meaning of rock and/or metal! Great Post!!!!
HAHAHA, if you ever watched their DVD, during the documentary about their first album and the concert, he uses the phrase "Cool cats." You can't be a jagoff and use "Cool cats." :) LaJon is awesome. He sings in a hard rock band, yet almost every video he looks like a fashion model. I always loved how he broke the mold for a "Hard rock" singer. Definitely a vocalist more than a singer.
Ive been a fan of 7D since the "Seasons" record. I finally after 8 years of being my number 1 favorite rock band, I got to see them live in Chicago on the Carnival of Madness tour. They played this song and it was amazing live. I remember before they played it, LJ announced that Clint is expecting a son.
i always sing their songs in my room i love the fact that he has such a strong emotional voice and of course he is one of the few african americans and he is not all strung out...Lajon is awesome
seen them april 24th 2010 at 98rockfest tampa florida with alice in chains and they were so bad ass the vip acoustic show kicked ass sevendust one of the best bands that are very very underrated
Dont get me wrong i love Seven Dust and this song but when this song came out Im pretty sure they said they would never perform it live cause it was a tribute to their friend from what snot? that died...i could be wrong but i remember them saying that.
definitely one of the most beautiful songs ever!!!! i love these guys so much! they can bring it heavy or touch every emotion u have ever felt all in the same show!
I think I've commented before, but rewatching this again was just fantastic. And I noticed that Lajon says, "Thank you, Mr. Letterman." :) Just struck me as being so polite, instead of, "Thanks Dave!" or "Yeah man."
"That dumb fuck Paul Schafer ruined this song! Whay doesn't he just let the band play their song?!"

...I have loved this song since it came out and remember tearing up watching the video with Lynn. This is the first time I heard this version, and again...I'm wiping my eyes as we speak.
I saw Sevendust twice last year at the Machine Shop in FLINT MICHIGAN. I have a drumstick that says "sevendust" on it that Morgan Rose threw into the crowd that i caught. They played with Nonpoint one of the times i saw them. Both times were fucking AMAZING.
not only one of the best bands in the world, but also among the best live bands, and best individual musicians and songwriters. all of them together have created an intoxicating and super-powered force of rock that nobody could possibly stand up to
I should know what type of style Sevendust is, I've only seen them almost a dozen times in downtown Chicago. They tour nonstop. I own every single record they've ever owned. They're classified as American Metal and Their style is this and this only: Hard rock, Nu metal, Heavy metal, and Alternative metal
What's up with the label "Alternative metal"? Where did that come from? Why can't you just say that Sevendust is a good hard rock band that came out in the 90s? There's nothing alternative about them. They're heavy!

I saw sevendust Wednesday with disturbed and Skindred -- they rocked the house here in Augusta - This song always gets me choked up -- one of my favs - they're always welcome in Augusta
I haven't seen Sevendust in a while. Last time I seen them was probably 2002. However in the 11 times I seen them before 2002 they never put on a bad show. Sad I had to miss them one time cause Lajon was sick on a tour they did with Limp Bizkit and Clutch. Show sucked without them.
Knowing Morgan, he probably did it just to be different or funny. lol. He's had way longer dreads and didn't use a stocking. His WHOLE face is covered. lol.
this is a prime example of a band that doesn't get the credit they deserve... they are fucking awesome, both on the album, and live... and thats hard to find in a band these days... another really cool thing about them is that they are one of those bands that dont really care about fame... they are more about the music and getting their message out there... and they treat their fans like gold, and thats also hard to find these days... Sevendust = epic/legendary
Are sevendust christians? on their website it says that the singer interprets the "seven" part of the name as the 7 disciples. But then it also says sevendust is a poison
yes they are Christians but their faith is not a driving force behind the band. Sevindust is actually a pesticide but LJ interprets it as 7 for all the 7's in the bible, and dust, for we are made from dust.
i was fortunate enought to see these guys live a few years back...sadly they did not play this song as it is one of my all time favs. thanks for posting...damn good music!
that was one hell good live performance! they fucking nailed that shit!
