I was on second life and I saw some dude with the group name of Non-Stop Genealogist and the name Constantine Kyomoon, I dunno, if it wasn't you, which it probably isn't, you may have a stalker lol. Oh yeah I have a friend that's going to be in Tokyo starting this friday.
Oh no! You missed part of the orientation! That's a disaster. You can never be a teacher now because you won't have been trained.... oh, wait, it's JET.... :)
Actually, missing the first day is the best bit to miss. It's usually complete bollocks anyway.
Sorry you're delayed, hope everything gets squared away tomorrow. And smooth sailing(flying) from here on out. It'll be okay if you take a few days getting settled in Tokyo before putting out an update. Take it in and enjoy.
Wow! I have dreamt of being a jet since my 7th grade year when we had a ex-jet speaker in our English class! I'm getting closer! Do you think they dislike your application if you are a strong Christian? I don't know why, but hat question has stuck in my mind. Anyway, I love your videos! I can't wait to see more. Japan is such a amazing place!
I also wanted to JET since I was in 7th grade. =P Japan is not a very religious country in the same way Americans can be religious. However, I don't think that being a Christian is a minus on the application, unless you make it seem like the reason you want to go to Japan is to proselytize. If your primary goal is to teach and share your culture, believing in God is definitely not an obstacle to that. Good luck!
Thanks! I just wondered that because I thought they might think it would induce the culture shock or something. I just recently found out that my Church has a ministry/ELS in Japan, so its like, "What do I chose!" Thanks for the comment. Ganbatte! Mata ne!
Complain to your government, not the nice people answering your government's call for English speakers.
And it *is* supposed to be fun, in that it's supposed to be a cultural experience for both the teachers and students. If you think you can have an effective intercultural exchange without having a good time, you're mistaken.
Enjoy the big hotel room while you can. I think I tripped at least once or twice when I was in my Tokyo hotel room. Although it appears that the JET program puts it's participants in bigger, nicer hotels. Lucky bastards!
almost there, almost there...sorta lol ...but yeah if youre not at home just think of it this way...youre pretty much at tokyo as long as youre not at home
