Funny, but in my version I have from 4:53 till 5 seconds later a short clip of music introduced in this scene that isn't in this U.S version which is only screaming uuuuh....aahhh. And I suspect it to be ripped from Mad Max, just 5 seconds.
@sirlordwhitman agreed but this movie is epic, if you love 80's movies , if not well your just like the other million people who can't give movies like this and shows like 21 jump street the respect it deserves.
I grew up with this movie inspiring to me and never have i seen this on video please someone let me know how to find it Its my favorite, and part2 thanks for the help!
This video is available on video, however I found it at Goodwill in 2004 when I worked there. The movie is not copy-protected. If you can find a copy to borrow from somewhere, you should be able to record it.
i just looked on amazon (the us site (".com" NOT ".ca") and they have some used copies (DVD) there for under $7.00, however since it is from a another seller you will probably have to pay shipping. This will depend on where you live. You want to go to the american site because the minimum cost on the canadian site is a used copy for $20.00. (Some idiot is trying to sell the movie for more the $150.00! -- They can keep it)
I just realize something. I don;t know if anyone has picked this up, because I haven't read the comments, but when Jason was unloading into the garage, the music...if I didn't know any better, I would've thought that was the Axel F. song from Beverly Hills Cop! Hmm...
WOW! i remember this movie :) I LOVED IT! As a kid in like 87-88! Its amazing how Bruce Lee changed filming making in martial arts in the early 70's! Paving the way for Norris,Jackie Chan,Van Damme, Seagal. He was really something! This movie is another piece of his impact :) Good movie! Better than the fake string attached m.a. movies today! We need to go back to punch and kicks on the ground in believable reality ! :)
I've never seen the entire US version before, but the music that starts at 7:37 reminds me of Double Dragon, I couldn't imagine a better childhood than Van Damme movies and old school beat 'em up games:D I didn't grow up to be violent though:D
i used to love the fighting in this movie back in the day. i watched this thinking that after 20 year it would look like shit. i was suprised to see it still looked okay. definatly better then the fighting in kickboxer, thats for sure!
my god! i remember the times then...i went to the BATTLE AT ATLANTA . winning all my fights and forms competitions and getting a chance to meet PETER CUNNINGHAM,BILL WALLACE,JOE CORLEY,BENNY"THE JET"..jus to name a few..:) man i sure miss those days.
@jaylyn3 its called a boxing/speedball. More specifically; a "floor to ceiling" speedball which is meant to be tied to both the floor and ceiling by elastic rope (they're doing it wrong in the video). You punch and dodge the ball as it comes back and fourth.
Pretty useless IMO, nothing beats training with a real opponent or a hanging punchbag.
This is one of my favorite martial arts movies!!!!!Van Damme making his first movie appearance in this makes it very special and a classic!!!!!!!Excellent soundtrack with this movie too is a plus.........Just like madmax5427 said.....truly a blast from tha past!!!!!!!!!!!
ok i demand to know who you are! you my friend! rock! what great memories this brings back. my friends and I saw this movie and we were and still are huge bruce lee fans, we all went outside to copy the moves we saw, we all thought we were martial arts hotshots. our parents just thought we were all crazy.
hey what did you use to upload this? I tried using roxio vhs to dvd but it didn't come out right. Could you help me out? I have this version. I don't like the dvd because they added extra scenes and different music. So could you please let me know what I can use? Thanks.
There are two versions.. I grew up watching this one. its a classic. i got it on vhs. might need to order the dvd version...if u watch the other version. u can tell the differnence..
@destryallanbell VHS was the best version. The DVD sucked as it had a different title card and loads of extra scenes (non fighting) that made the film way too longer. It also deleted the "Kelly Date" sequence.
Ahhhh.. the good old days when gangsters would show up at your Karate school wearing Karate Gis and Karate schools were so lucrative that Gangsters wanted a piece of your action and would force you to join their organization.
I love the music and better dialogue in this version, it's just sad there's so much more cool fighting stuff in the other edit, with Van Damme really beating the crap out of the hero in the end fight, before the turnaround. Knee to the stomache as he's lying down, so evil. :.)
