The first I saw Marty's book was in Mark Jone's (son of Grandpa Jones) Recording Studio in Harrison, AR. I was amazed at all the candid shots Marty took as he grew up with all the greats of Country Music.
Marty I hope to meet you on one of my trips to AR and Branson, MO. Maybe we can get together and and jam in Mark and Sue' studio. Now that would be fun....for me at least.
I wish his TV show was longer......what a wonderful entertainer. Glad he had the desire to start collecting all that country and rock stuff....Thanks Marty
Had a chance to meet up with Marty last year. What an awesome guy and an awesome entertainer. Thanks for keeping country music alive. Connie Smith is my favorite female singer on this planet. Love you two so much!
I have his wonderful book, the Masters, signed by him, and have heard him sing his tribute to Johnny, Dark Bird, in person several times. I am looking foward to having the cd of that beautiful song.
I already have his book Masters, and have heard him sing his tribute to Johnny, Dark Bird, in person several times. Now to be able to have it on cd....priceless!
some excerpts sound like he was hanging out in the Free Mexican Air Force a little too much, but he's right about the "spirit" of country. It tells a story and is a shame cross over became mainstream. New stuff just isn't country.
Marty's the best. Country music is slowly dying - Marty is the one of last great country artist. Pop is taking over country music. I hope everyone appreciates Marty trying to save the history of country music.
country music dying??what are you nuts??country going pop?? it did that before and it made a comeback. it can comeback again.but, we have to fight for it.

Since when has Marty been wearing a hat? That's unusual. I still remember his line, "I'm country to the bone, but I don't wear no hat...oh no!"
Marty is my all-time favorite country artist. Hands down a legend, and country's last REAL, genuine country musician.

Simply wonderful. Marty just teases us with glimpses of his true talent. He is so incredibly under-appreciated.
