totally agree Relemdeen! Introducing diseases to that tank could be devastating to your fish, I feed my oscar feeders, but they are taken out of the store water, kept in a "hospital tank" that i have set up, specifically to ensure my oscars meal is healthy and disease free. Diseases can take weeks to show, so all my live food is treated before being introduced for feeding. :-)

not saying what your doing is wrong, and what im about to say may not be relevent because the oscars are eating the fish anyways, but i wouldnt normaly add water that the fish came in, to the tank. could cause disease, though of course, if your oscar is going to eat the fish its probubly going to get sick from it anyways. other than that, cool video, lame music but thats MO, and not too fond of the skulls.. for the ship i would build a model submarine and tie it to a rock, to add something cool

Hahahaha i do the same, is that a 4ft tank? 55gal? I have that with 4 oscar(grow out tank), and a baby gar. 1 electric blue cichlid and 2 pleco. You can see the vid! Adding a gar makes the whole process so much more fun! Because every1 wants to see the gar catching the fish the oscars are trying so hard to get to!

yeah...I like having my tank look as 'natural' as possible. I use a few Buddha's and broke them into pieces, buried them partially in the sand., and surrounded them with plants...looks cool when they grow a bit of algae on them...ancient looking. I really like the background, I'd like to make one myself sometime.

i have 3 small oscars prob between 5 and 7 inches and my alkalinity is high and the water is hard how can i get rid of this..and they are sittin on the floor right now im hopin they wont diee i switched em from a tank that was horrible and everythings fine but the alkalinity and hardness so i dont get it..

You need to drain the water from the bag and then put them in . that water may have diseases.

hahahaha..your oscar's took awhile to take one feeder..my old oscar was crazy..he would take 3 feeders in a flash. It seem's like your oscar's are tired..lol, But, damn..if you look at his other fish..long skirt tetra's, they were teaming up on one feeder..they took one down faster than your oscar..lmao.. look at his other fish(tetras powning the feeder) 0:22 to 0:27 lmao...

So many things wrong with this vid. Firstly your oscars should not be in a communual tank, they'll attack and be aggresive to the smaller fish and eat them when big enough. Also 55 gallons is MINIMUM size for one oscar.

First , they have to be big enough to fit them in thier mouth. So a baby won't be able to catch one. What I do is I feed mine pellets and I gradually increase the size, and I feed them a worn every day for a treat. My little red oscar I got a few days ago is going after my danios in the tank already though. Cya.

thanx man! i've changed it a bit now though....plants all got ripped out the the oscars, the tetras all got eaten and the loach went back to the shop b4 he became dinner. I also took out the ship stering wheel and the skull totem pole and replaced it with more driftwood and rocks to give it a more natural look....i'll have new vids up soon!

I agree with soilfang, you should quarentine feeder fish before you feed your O's with them as they can carry all sorts of nasties, I don't use feeders at all to be honest - it fouls the water something horrible and I dont have the space to quarentine them, plus they dont provide enough nutrients to be used as a staple food for such big fish as O's. Nice tank though, lovely set up - but your loaches will be food soon.
